average, that is to say, mediocre
Sure it is slightly cheaper than the hotels in the area, but the experience was luke warm. The hotel is old and the rooms are a bit worn.

I've stayed at this hotel many times, primarily because it is located right off the 405, close to Sunset. It's nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Good restaurant though the last time I was there the service was abysmal.
I stayed at the Luxe for a recent business meeting and the hotel and service were both fantastic! The rooms are huge! The hotel has totally been redone and Everything in my room was brand new! The front desk clerk was very hospitable and I have never been so ""welcomed"" in an LA hotel! My room service breakfast was delivered in less then 10 minutes and they even called to make sure I was happy with my meal and did not need anything else. After breakfast I checked out and my car was waiting for me, no that is service! I will be back!
I plan to stay at this hotel again.
Not your typical hotel experience. The Luxe is ideal for a restful weekend get-away. The pool is small but elegant in an ""Classic Los Angeles"" sort of way. The Hotel is surrounded by eucalyptus trees- very classic LA. The service was fantastic. Room service great and rooms are huge. Saw the hotel ppol in an episode of ""Six Feet Under"" after we stayed there. Some who expect all-out luxury will miss the charm and comfort of this hotel.
Not The Best
Its a good place to go and relax and get a drink with a friend. But dont expect to be dance or any loud type of music.
