I have been staying at this hotel since 1999, when it used to be a Radisson. It made a change over to Doubletree a few years ago. One thing that I can say...
The parking is by far the worst, otherwise this place was clean and comfy. I love the cookies! If i were rating the parking they would get a negative 5.
Wanted to go see the Brewers vs. Padres since my boyfriend is a huge Brewers fan (he's from Wisconsin). Wanted a nice hotel but affordable for just one...

3-star hotel
This is a 3-star hotel. The neighbourhood was not very child and family friendly with no grocery stores and no where else to eat that is within...
Based on previous reviews I was afraid to stay at this hotel. I took a risk and I was pleasantly surprised. I added a few days on to a conference. The conference hotel was located in the Gaslamp section and I decided to move further North after the conference. This is a downtown hotel but it took about 20 minutes to walk into town. The Convention Center is not a close walk so plan on a cab or shuttle. I chose this location because it is closer to the zoo and the airport. I enjoyed the helpful staff, the clean and comfortable room the small but nice pool area was really a nice break from the major downtown hotels. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are great restaurants in Little Italy which is a short walk away. I recommend this hotel if you want relaxation, a great room in a cutting edge hotel. The lobby is very modern but small. Do not expect a business center unless you expect 2 computer's in the lobby. The bed was "excellent" . The only downsize to the room is the size. The rooms are small and not much storage space. The storage was actually an Armoir really close up on the bed. I recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a edgy neighborhood close to the zoo and the airport. Of course the cookies....I would definitely stay again.
I wrote this review since the last reviews posted were older and, in my experience, this hotel was much better than the previous reviews described. The room looked newly remodeled. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly. There were 2 computers with internet access and a printer available in the lobby. Other than some traffic noise from Interstate 5, the rooms were very quiet. Location is outside of Little Italy, but a short walk away. Downtown/Gas Lamp was a bit longer walk away - about 8-10 blocks. The meeting room was very nice and the food service to the meeting room was good. I did not eat at the restaurant. The lobby was a bit small, but nicely decorated. It was a very nice service to have the shuttle to the airport. In my opinion, it was a little bit pricey for the location. Not quite as extravagant as some Double Tree Hotels I have stayed at, but definitely a very nice Hotel!
This property was recently converted from a Radisson, and they haven't got the kinks worked out. From lights that didn't work and clogged sinks, to terrible room service, this place has a long way to go. It may be okay with time, but for now I would stay away. I travel to San Diego frequently on business, and definitely won't return.
Room was pretty nice, water view spectacular. Dining/lounge area could be relocated. It is visible from lobby and was hard to relax and enjoy my dinner/drinks. Also parking garage very tight!! We would definately stay again though! Friendly staff
The staff is unfriendly, uncaring and indifferent. Carpets are worn, curtains are off the tracks, the garage is a nightmare. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who cares for even the most minimal level of service
Clean, comfortable accommodations and guaranteed customer satisfaction.
