Yes it is located in a popular and convienient place (to convention center, torory and main street) but it means there are many restaurants and bars making noise till late. Young people drunk may shout outside on the street! This hotel is relatively old so window cant shield at all. Continental morning food was a very simple so dont expect so much. It is just an addithional for your morning. People Serve so good and they clean up rooms well. There are many expensive hotels near here so it depends on to what we give the priority. So in total, it was just OK to me.
I arrived on the 5th, could not find a plact to park, turns out they were doing Mardigra, right outside my window, not good, should of been warned of this.
A nice old-fashioned elegance. Lovely room with impressive attention to detail. The setting is extremely convenient, but somewhat noisy at night because of the lively Gaslamp quarter. Breakfast was adequate but not overwhelming -- toast, cold pastries/donuts, good coffee, juice, limited selection of cereal and fruit. Definitely worth coming back again!
The room was nice and clean. My only complaint about it would be the lighting in the bathroom. There was only one light around the sink, which made it a bit dark in the bath/shower area and adjoining toilet area. I agree with another reviewer about the smell of cleanser in the hallway, but it was not really unpleasant. The complimentary breakfast consisted of cold cereal, muffins and toast along with coffee and juice. My wife was a little disappointed that there were no eggs and the like after a few glasses of wine the night before. Overall, it was a nice stay and I wouldn't mind a repeat visit. It was fairly noisy at night, but that's not the fault of the hotel; It wasn't any noisier than any other older downtown hotel I've ever stayed in; They really party in the Gaslamp at night!
This hotel is perfectly located for good days and evenings in San Diego. It is very clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff were extremel helpful and there was a good, safe car valet service. Will go there again.
My family enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was convenient to everything in San Diego. It's location in the Gaslamp district was great for restaurant selections and evenings out. Our suite had a microwave, refridgerator and coffee maker but we didn't need them. The continental breakfast service on the roof patio was very good.
