I've never stayed at a 2 star before but would stay here again anytime. The staff is extremely responsive and helpful. Rooms are clean and were cleaned promptly and requests were handled quickly and efficiently. The on-site restaurant was great for late morning breakfasts and for occasional room service. Good prices!! The only complaint I have is that the web site states that they will take you anywhere within a certain area if their shuttles are available. Due to the increase in gas prices that isn't so. You'll have to take a taxi. You're in a pretty good location but don't base your staying here on the availability of that service. However, the drivers who took us to the zoo and sea world were very friendly and accommodating. If they'd had their choice they would have accommodated us. Overall I'd stay again. I'd just budget more for taxi's.
We were given a room in the executive building, which sounded good, except that the hallways smelled and the room was always very muggy. The beds and Pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The room was very clean though, except for the mold in the windows from the humidity or something. It was nice being close to the pool, which was clean and WARM. YAY! and secluded in a nice area. The directions they give out, which are on the back of the room diagram were VERY HELPFUL, except for directions to the Animal Kingdom. Follow a map closely because there aren't signs telling where to turn off the freeway. We had an item stolen from our room by housekeeping. We were positive, but the front desk wouldn't really believe us. When we got home, we had a message that the item had been located in housekeeping and they would mail to us, but there was no apology just a lame excuse of they didn't know how it got there. Be careful. For places to eat, head East from the hotel and you will find a lot of choices. Do not head West. We found this location a great middle point for absolutely Everything. I would stay here again if it weren't for the NO apology thing and the beds.
Great for the price, had coffee maker, microwave, frig. Comfortable and clean.Left privacy card on door one day and still got room cleaned after 6pm.Pool is out of the way in the back, could have been warmer.Close to attractions, few restaurants nearby other than in the various hotels, had to go up the highway to find more choices. Pam Pam was good, a continental breakfast would have been nice. Was quiet, staff nice, had to call customer service to get internet to work but got it going fast.
Pros: The staff did everything they could to serve us well, including calling the room shortly after check-in to see if we needed anything. The rooms was cramped, but reasonably clean, and everything worked. Noise from neighbors was never an issue. The Hotel Circle location (if you have a car) is very convenient for such attractions as the San Diego Zoon and Sea World. The restaurant, Pam Pam, provided friendly service for breakfast.Cons: The pool was unavailable -- being "redone". They had an arrangement with a hotel two doors up, but to us it was not worth the walk, especially when wet. However, note that reviews of the pool before 12/2007 may not apply when the pool reopens. We ultimately checked out early and moved to another hotel nearby so that we could be closer to a working pool. The hotel has no interior hallway. You enter the room from an exterior walkway, walking by the doors, windows, and AC units of other rooms along the way. While this arrangement is popular -- we found it in every hotel we stayed at on this trip -- I'm not a fan of this setup. The "kitchenette" consisted of a mini fridge and microwave. This may barely meet someone's definition and does allow you to prepare some limited meals, but we expected more.
The front desk was very friendly, and helpfull. They offered me a room on whichever floor I wanted. They called the room, and asked if we had any needs. I told her we were having wireless internet connectivity problems. She gave me a phone number to call, and the man on the phone was very helpful, and in a couple of minutes had my wife's and my laptops connected to the internet. The next morning I went to the front desk asking for more coffee for the room, and they immediately gave me two more packets. The service and food at the cafe were excellent. We had breakfast there, but wished we had supper there also, as the place we had supper was more expensive, and had small portions. We will definitly stay there again when we travel to San Diego.
Good location, is a bit noisy. Good for families with kids.
