This is a small and modest hotel with only 17 rooms that is very close to downtown Palm Springs. My friend worked with the owner and all of her friends to...
I ended up having one of the most restful and spectacular holidays of my life at this place - not some overpriced, over-indulged spa or resort, but a super...
The July 4th weekend presented me with the opportunity to sneak way from the madness of Los Angeles. However, I wanted to be close enough in distance as to not be too detached from the office. As a frequent traveler, I have my list of places where I stay that are pretty much etched in stone. However, I wanted something different this time. Refreshingly, there are only a handful of rooms on the property, yet big enough for all the basic amenities and more. It was about 109 degrees outside but a steady temperature of choice in my suite. The pool area was spotless, access to the hot tub was instant and it seemed other guests were there for similar reasons (rest, relaxation, decompress from stress). There was absolutely no noise *anywhere*. The BONUS surprise at the end of my first night was a bed that was equal in comfort to that of higher end Westin Hotel/Resorts I?ve stayed in. The Hotel is within walking distance of several very good restaurants. It?s secured and access is mostly limited. I believe I stayed in an upgraded room; however, it was worth every cent. Bottomline: This review may not appeal to everyone; however, this hotel may soon be one of those hidden spots with a long waiting list to get in. The Hotel California is a Must Stay. At least for one night if you?re flexible - I?ll bet you finish your stay right there.
Beautifully decorated for comfort and warmth. Feels like staying in the guest room of a good friend's home. Very clean. Owners are enjoyable hosts.
