Travelocity Reviews ( 8 Reviews see all ) Top

The room was old and dirty looking. Stains on carpet, chairs, sides of box spring, and even the pillow cases! I requested new pillow cases and they were just as bad. The door locked, but looked so flimsy that someone could break it in if they really wanted. We stayed for one day and opted not to take showers because it looked old and filthy in the bathtub/shower. Overall, we could not wait to check-out. The worst part was the fact that our air conditioning stopped working after we came back from a late dinner and visit to the beach. It was about 10 pm and we decided to adjust the buttons thinking maybe that would help, but it still would not blow cold air. It was much hotter in our room than it was outside, but we did not want to open the window- not even for a few minutes because there was no screen and we did not want bugs flying in. So, at midnight we tried calling the front office about 5 times and let it ring for several minutes each time: no answer. My two toddlers were sweating so much their hair was wet around the edges and their backs were dripping with sweat as they slept. We woke up early and checked out and when I advised them of the AC problem and the fact that no one answered the phone the manager acted like I was lying and sent the maid to the room to check the AC and supposedly the maid said it was blowing cold air. Strange that she was in the room over 10 minutes to say that it was blowing cold and claimed that we had it turned to 'hot' which implies that we don't know how read!

Very affordable and only 2 miles from the beach. That being said, just your very depressing bare bones motel room. I recalled staying at another Howard Johnson that seemed much nicer. Plenty of dining choices close by, but if you don't know the area you will never find them. I used to live in the area 5 minutes away and thats why I chose the property. Pics look nicer than the actual place. You could hear car doors closing and alarm locks beeping ALL NIGHT as if they were in your room. Will not stay or recommend.

THE BED WAS AS HARD AS A ROCK, THE AC UNIT IS AT ONE END OF THE ROOM GIVING NO AIR TO OTHER ROOM, AN ALRIGHT PLACE TO STAY FOR 1 NITE

 by  anonymous  on  2007-03-02

Hotel was easy to find and it was great for the price. It wasn't the plaza but it was clean and in a good area. The beach was just a five minute drive away and when my boyfriend and I needed directions the young lady at the front desk was extremly helpful.

 by  anonymous  on  2006-09-02

Rooms were shabby. Hidden charges for safe in room. Room overall was poor. Bathroom had mold and chipped tiles. Not recommended.

Very nice place to stay. Clean, people were polite, and helpful.
