The number of view rooms is as plentiful as the laid-back, beach-resort atmosphere at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. Guestrooms overlook the colorful Paradise Pier land of Disney's California Adventure park or relaxing views of the hotel's signature rooftop pool with its roller coaster inspired slide. Accommodations include mini-refrigerators and high-speed Internet connections. This boardwalk feel can be found in each of the deluxe Guestrooms as well. From the surfboard-shaped room number signs outside the door, to the Mickey Mouse lifeguard lamps and palm tree-lined bedspreads inside, the mood is a mix of nautical and nostalgic, but always decidedly Disney. Please note that there is a per-night resort fee of 11.50 (including tax) payable to the front desk.Promotion Disclaimer: *Get 2 More Days & Nights FREE offer: Valid for bookings from 3/24/09 through 8/11/09 and for arrivals 4/1/09 through 9/26/09 with travel being completed by 10/1/09. Awesome deal at this hotel. Very decent compared to the others unless you pay $300 a night for Grand California. Why? All you do is sleep there, then go the...
There are a few things I like about this place and a few things I didn't like. Paradise Pier is so obviously the ugly stepsister of the main Disney hotels...

Great Hotel
Wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel - but can't not speak highly enough about the service, cleanliness and location to everything. Room ...
THE HOTEL STAFF WAS FRIENDLY, THE ROOM WAS NICELY DECORATED, CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. OUR FIRST 2 NIGHTS WERE VERY QUIET, THE THIRD NIGHT OUR NEIGHBORS WERE A LITTLE LOUD, BUT IT IS DISNEYLAND AND THE KIDS WERE EXCITED, I GUESS. LOCATION IS A SHORT WALK (MAYBE 2 BLOCKS TOTAL) FROM DISNEYLAND & CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE, SO YOU DON'T NEED A CAR. RESTAURANT HAS GREAT FOOD - BUFFET STYLE, OMELETS MADE TO ORDER, BUT 80 FOR TWO ADULTS AND A 5-1/2 YR OLD IS QUITE SPENDY. LILO & STITCH AND MINNIE MOUSE MINGLE WITH THE KIDS, AND YOU GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN WITH MINNIE MOUSE WHEN YOU ENTER (NO BIG PRESSURE TO PURCHASE THOUGH). FANTASTIC STAY AND WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN WHEN OUR OTHER GRANDCHILD IS OLD ENOUGH!!!
The worst thing about our stay was waiting for the elevators! For a large hotel, there are only 4 of them. Tip-if the elevators are busy, hit both buttons get on whether it's going up or down. It will be faster then waiting for one going the right direction! The staff was very friendly, but the front desk clerk who checked us in didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and we had to wait for her for quite some time. The maid service was awesome! Our maid even folded up the crib blanket and arranged the stuffed animals. You can't beat the convenience to the park!
My husband and I took my parents to California and Disneyland and decided to stay here. It is the cheapest of the three Disney property hotels. The view of California Adventure park was awesome! We actually stayed on the 5th floor which is not considered a "park view" room, but we still had a perfect view of all of the rides. The room was plenty large and had room for four adults, plus I think the couch had a pull out bed. The location is great because you can walk to all of the Disney parks and Downtown Disney. There was a nicely lit pathway that was helpful when returning to the hotel at night. The front desk helped us make reservations for a very popular restaurant (The Blue Bayou). I would definitely stay here again. We had a great time.
Take the time to contact the hotel directly when making reservations. About half of the rooms face huge parking lots, trash cans, bill boards and powerlines. The other half shows the lights of California Adventure Park and some fireworks. I was disappointed with the drab colors of the room - and especially the view. Management got us relocated with a direct view of the pool (eye level), which hid most of the parking lot - lucky they even had it available. The move was appreciated. I don't understand why Orlando hotels for Disney seem to be more cheerfully appointed. If you can afford the difference while staying in CA, pay for the Hotel California instead. This was my 8th Disney trip (4th to CA). The lobby was sooo not impressive. One plastic Goofy was the center for attention and picture taking. The pool was cold and too small for the size of the hotel. The hot tub was tepid at best. There were building provisions for refreshments by the pool but it was closed down. One 2 yr old next to us got stung by a wasp while IN the pool. I packed a full sized foam mattress from Kmart to double up over on my mattress for extra comfort (works well for me on mediocre beds) . At the end of the trip it came in handy to tear and protect souvenirs I had purchased for the air trip home. The on-line description on the Disney site said the rooms had no safes. I called ahead, and yes all rooms have safes. I contacted Disney to modify their site. Overall this hotel was average - overpriced for what you got but not the worst either.
After reading some of the past comment about the hotel, I have to admit I was a little worried about staying here. I was very surprised to see how nice the hotel was. The room was very clean and quiet and the decor was cute. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to staying here again. My only complaint is that the monorail was not working. Being pregnant and having two small children, the walk to Disneyland was a little long.
If you look on a lot of other sites that have traveler reviews for disney resorts, you'll often find that Paradise Pier seems to be the least favorite of the 3. After our vacation here, I have no clue why that would be. The most common complaint among these hard to please travelers is the "long walk" to the park entrance. These people must be insane. It took us about 5 minutes, and that's with 2 either tired and straggling or running wild toddlers in tow. If that's a long walk, maybe a trip to Disneyland isn't for you anyway. The accomodations were lovely, not super fancy, but most people know this going into it. Paradise Pier is supposed to be the 'cheaper' of the 3 Disney resorts, but cheaper doesn't mean Motel 6. The staff was more than helpful and friendly, and all in all we had a blast. As long as you don't expect accomodations like the Grand Californian, you will be pleased. But if you have small children, you don't want those 'super fancy' accomodations anyway. This is about as nice and 'fancy' as you'd want chasing after small kids. LOL Not intimidating, but very nice. Even walking through the lobby of the Grand Californian to go to the park, I felt as though I needed to shush my kids because people were looking at the "intruders." We clearly did not seem to be the GC type. LOL Paradise Pier is exactly what we were looking for.
The finest in California livin', Mickey style.
In ShortFormerly the Disneyland Pacific Hotel, the turquoise-trimmed tower was renovated to blend seamlessly into the park's colorful Parad
