This hotel lived up to it's previous reviews. It was very clean, well maintained, close to Disneyland, and really did have the most comfortable beds I've every slept on, even better than mine at home. It was cleaned well daily, and the grounds were lovely. They have a SMALL laundry room in the basement of building one - The only reason I rated the quality of the room lower than excellent was because the computer modem didn't work. I was lucky enough to be on the edge of the lobby wireless range though, so it worked out OK. One buyer beware: we purchased the Premium Disney view room and it probably wasn't worth the extra money. The rooms do face Disneyland, but there are giant evergreens planted right in front of the balconeys facing Disney. While you can see the fireworks nightly through and to the right of the trees, my girls were tired of them after the second night anyway. During the day, the view is realy non-existant.
Our stay at Ho Jo's was ok. Our room was small, however, the bed was very comfortable and it was very close to Disneyland. About a 5 minute walk. On the downside: We asked for a room with a microwave and we did not get a room with a microwave. We were in the tower, right next to the freeway. Very noisy if you wanted to sit out on the balcony or open up the door to the balcony. The kid's pool was closed for renovation and we were never notified of this until we got there. I booked in February and they failed to send an email of this renovation. I booked at this hotel because it had a seperate kids pool with fountains and play area. It was disappointing when we arrived and was told it was closed for most of the summer. However, they were apologetic and gave me a 15% discount on my total room bill.
Our first and last visit to this hotel. Our room faced HWY 5 and could hear the traffic all night. The room a/c would only stay at one temp. and the bath room tub had rust. The lobby was cool and retro, but rooms were very dated and not very clean. Not till we got to our room were we informed that they were closing the main pool down the next day for construction. With all the hotels on Harbor Dr. I would look into staying at another hotel that might cost me a few extra dollars. This one cost me more than it should have,
We stayed at HOJO on our recent trip to disneyland, the hotel is across the street from the DL resort, about a 10 min walk ( after afull day in the park it feels like a long walk) . Our room was in tower 1 on the sixth floor, we had the best view of disney, and prime viewing of the fireworks. We did not have noise problems from the freeway, i think that was due to the building we were in . The room was a little out dated, alot of orange and brown colors it looked like something from the 70's, and the bathroom was real small, but this hotel had the most comfortable beds i have ever sleept on, at a hotel. It was like sleeping in my own bed.. We left this hotel happy, and will return..
This hotel met our expectations. Room was large and kept clean. Front desk staff were very helpful, as was the gentleman who held our bags in a room for us our last day, since we had a late flight. Housekeeping was great, never bothered us, but did their job perfectly. The pool area was clean, but we did not use the pool. A bonus was that we could see the fireworks from the hotel property, but after seeing the Fantasmic Show and Fireworks in the park, I recommend going into the park for the full effect! Loved that we were close to Mimi's Restaurant (love their salads and muffins) and would pass McDonald's on the way to and from Disneyland...great for coffee. We enjoyed the Disneyland Archive show on the room tv, it was shown over and over, great history about Disney and Disneyland. My only complaints... the room was near the freeway, but luckily not in front of it (like some rooms were). The windows are insulated with extra glass and we were in a building 2, second floor just behind the office and once nightime arrives and you want to sleep, the freeway is so noisey. They need a taller soundwall, as you can see the cars and trucks going by and they create loud noises in passing. Also, the extra semi-round windows, at night, if someone went on their balcony, they could watch you in your bed! They need some curtains that you can pull closed in rooms like that. Nice touch that you get a message from manager, but it's on the phone message which lights up on the phone, which made me nervous that maybe something was wrong at home until I heard the message. I would recommend & stay again.
The hotel staff were polite. We really didn't ask much from anyone. But knowing that we reserved the room for 4 people there wasn't enough towels, shampoo, etc. available for all. They did deliver more. The room sleeping area was fine. However, even with the separate sink outside the bathroom there was alot of conjestion. The outside sink was adjacent to the entry door and there was very little counter space. Our hairdryer from home did not sit on the ledge very well. The inside bathroom counter wasn't much larger. They had the coffee set up on top of the refrigerater outside the bathroom door across from the extra sink - so that area, which is by the door, was always busy. We all slept very solid.......we were exhausted everyday. :) For as little as we stayed in the room it was just fine. The walk is a little long after walking all over Disneyland. We didn't mind that too much. It took approx 15 mins. Facing Disneyland the hotel is at the far right corner of Disneyland. I rated that we would stay again. It was a yes or no. I think I would try still try something closer.
