Just steps away from the beach, the Inn at East Beach offers the style and personal service of a fine Bed and Breakfast with the amenities and privacy of a boutique hotel. The Inn enjoys a tranquil location, convenient to all the great sites, shopping, dining and pristine beaches that make Santa Barbara such a special destination. Most of the Inn's oversized rooms and suites surround our landscaped pool courtyard and enjoy views of the blue Pacific or stunning coastal mountains. Rooms are furnished with a ceiling fan and original island oil paintings. All rooms and suites are non-smoking and offer complimentary high-speed wireless internet, in room coffee maker, microwave oven and refrigerator, iron and ironing board and free local telephone calls. For your enjoyment and convenience, the hotel offers guest laundry, complimentary continental breakfast, local morning paper and friendly service are available, just outside your door. Let me say that the on-site manager, Frank, was engaging, interesting, and extremely helpful. That said, I was disappointed that there was no A/C in the rooms and my room must have been 85+ degrees when I entered after check-in in the evening. The room cooled off overnight, but I wouldn't want to have been there during the day. The rooms are simple, somewhat low-budget, clean but nothing exciting. One nice plus is that they provide free parking, internet access, continental breakfast, and bottled water. The small pool closed at 9:00 PM, a little earlier than what I'm used to.
My friend and I did a San Francisco to San Diego Trip. This little motel was perfectly situated for a mid point stop. The rooms was clean and comfortable, with a kitchen and fireplace. The high point of the stay was the manager, Frank Santana. He was one of the most charming characters I have met in years. He sincerely cared abut your stay and was helpful in providing info regarding Santa Barbara. The complimentary breakfast was great. It is definitley a return spot.
I booked my stay at this hotel by revieiwing the comments posted by other travelers on this very website. When we first arrived I was skeptical by the outward appearance. Don't be...this place is definitely worth it, great value for the money. Upon arrival they provided S.B brochures, pamphlets, etc. Frank the owner is great; very nice and always willing to offer advice or tips for traveling, where to go, etc. The continental breakfast way exceeded my expectations. They had fresh baked goods (muffins, bagels, etc) delivered every morning; along with juices and coffee. The rooms were extremely clean and offered a refridgerator and microwave. We were only one block from the beach, about a mile from the pier, and roughly 1.5 miles from downtown. Couldn't beat the location for the price. Free parking is also a much appreciated added bonus. If you're interested, they've also got a pool which was small, but clean.
The carpet in the room was dirty and the room smelled like an animal had been staying in it. The desk clerk accused me of having an extra guest in my car, even though I only made reservations for one. I was traveling alone. The room did not have air conditioning. This room was not worth 255.00!
Before we even got to the lobby, the manager was saying Hello to us. They excel at the details: directions to just about everything nearby as well as maps and coupons for local shops were given to us right away. The location is great - close, but not in the middle of it all. The rooms will be remodeled and upgraded with air conditioning. It's apparent that the managers want to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable.
They were out of the standard room I booked so I got upgraded to a suite with fireplace and kitchen.Location in awesome. One block to East Beach. Was quiet, clean and the staff is awesome.5 start experience at a 2 star hotel
