We live in Reno and were looking for a weekend getaway that was close to home, but something new. This area was a great choice for us! The area was amazing. The fall colors were beautiful, Mono Lake was unique and there were many great places to explore. The location of the motel was great. The hotel has an amazing garden area with plenty of places to sit and relax. We had a room with 2 queen sized beds and it was HUGE! Our 20 month old had a ball running around in it. The room was very clean and the front staff was very nice. The room had a small refrigerator and a microwave. I'm pretty picky when we go anywhere because I want something very clean, affordable and easy to get to and this hotel had it all! I would definitely recommend it!
We left Yosemite and drove to Lee Vining on our way to see the ghost town of Bodie and stayed one night at the Lake View Lodge. It's a typical motel: basic room, quick check-in, great ice machine, easy parking. Our room was nicely cleaned. Cable TV included Showtime. There is a charming flower garden with tables and chairs in front of the rooms where we had champagne and hors d'oeuvres and looked at Mono Lake in the distance. Even though the motel is right on the road, it's quiet enough to sleep.
