This is worth price of admission!
What I liked about staying at the Cannery Row Inn was the convenience. We were steps from Cannery Row, Downtown and Fisherman's Wharf. When w...
Our room smelled like urine. Management is arrogant. "Ocean View" rooms (200 a night) overlook a dumpster in a parking lot. Pass on this one! A word of warning: the Otter Inn is their sister hotel.
After a beautiful, though long drive, I was met by a gruff woman who assumed I had not already made a reservation, and told me there were no rooms available. I then got a room with a broken screen, strong smell of disinfectant, a dripping bathroom ceiling, and an overall shabby appearance. The wireless internet service worked only once. The service never got any better. I will never stay here again nor recommend this place.
The fellows at the front dest were very helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room clean Although the view was kiddy-cornored we enjoyed it. The fireplace a nice touch. The food basket was a big plus. I love this place just for it's close proximity to the sights and walking along paths both north and south. Great food and entertainment nearby.
For starters, the man in front desk was so friendly and welcoming-thanks! The room was clean, and free of odors. They gave a little treat basket with goodies (my kids were happy), it had a little fireplace, balcony (small but nice), cable and small refrigerator, which came in handy for our 'doggy bags'. We were delighted in the fact that we didn't have to worry about parking, we were within walking distance of most everything we wanted to do & we were within a block of the beach. Mind you, it's not the Plaza Suite, but is simply nice, clean and friendly.
The water ""view"" was over the parking lot, over the dumpster and over the trees. They promised to refund the difference bet. that room and a regular room (20?) and I'm still waiting. It's 1/07!
I love this hotel for it affordabilty and it's close proximity to one of californias best dive sites. You can suit up, walk across the street, and dive."
