Our room was very clean and spacious. We stayed in an "Elite Room" whatever that means, so maybe it was a little bigger than most. There were 2 nice fluffy bathrobes hanging in the closet. The floor was very clean, I was comfortable walking around the room barefoot. The beds were too soft and wobbly. The windows must have been very thin, during the night we could hear people talking and laughing seemingly from the street outside. The view of the bay was great, however. Room service (dinner and breakfast) was quick and the food was excellent. We had trouble accessing the on demand video games and movies in our room, but a technician was sent up right away to try to fix it. He was not able to fix the problem and told us that he was going to have to call the cable company. We were not able to watch an on demand movie that night, and imagine our surprise when we received our statement under the door in the morning and saw that we had been charged for a movie! The only other thing we didn't like about the hotel was that there was no self parking, only valet. It would have been nice if they had an indoor pool, since it was so cold and windy. Location is close to Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row area. I think the room was a little too expensive, but if you want a nice 4 star hotel it seems this is the only one closet to the aquarium area.
The Marriott was great, we had a wonderful bayview (corner) room. The room was very clean and within walking distance of the Fishermn's wharf. Also very close to the convention center and the free (summer only) trolley to Cannery Row. The restaurant had a great Eggs Benidict at breakfast.
We stayed at the Marriott and traveled to Carmel, 17 mile Drive, and Big Sur from there. It is the most magnificent scenery in the country!! The hotel is in walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. The breakfast there is excellent. Our room was very spacious and nice.
Our room was very small and in need of lots of improvement. We could hear sounds from the street, hallway, and people talking from rooms on both sides of us. Our bathroom has no exhaust vent, we had to go to the lobby restroom in the morning to avoid causing unpleasant smell in the room
Service is great, large enough room for rollaway, big bathroom, clean
lovely decor in room and great bed with lots of pillows; bathroom was fine and closet space was great. we had a corner room and it was not big but more than adequate; the location is wonderful for walking around Monterey, but the hotel is really overpriced for the area, especailly when you add on parking and breakfast
