Travelocity Reviews ( 5 Reviews ) Top

The lobby is spectacular and our room was very lovely. I thought the beds were comfortable but my daughter didn't like hers but then she has a Sleep Number bed at home. We weren't told by Travelocity that there was a *.00 a nite charge for our rental car. We hadn't been to San Francisco before and wanted to get everywhere, but that was an extra *00 we hadn't planned on. Room service could use a little upgrade. Breakfast is best. We have traveled very little and didn't know that the hotel has a business center so we called the front desk about renting a computer. The lady gave us the phone number of someone called a "roamer" and he wanted *a day for the computer rental. Needless to say we didn't rent one. She never bothered to tell us about the business center. We enjoyed our trip though and will be more savy the next time. When it comes right down to it, there really isn't too much help out there from anyone. Personal agendas, you know. Oh, and since they are listing me as mature ( I am 62) with teens I have to say my daughter is 30.

This is a truly beautiful hotel. I brought my family along as I was attending a conference at the hotel. Our room was large, especially for San Francisco, and was very clean. The hotel staff was wonderful, we checked in early without any hassle. The meeting rooms were typical large hotel meeting rooms, but the lunches served as part of the conference were by far the best conference food I have ever had. Very convenient location, near Chinatown, Union Square, and Cable Car line. Market/Powell Bart station about 6 blocks south of the hotel, but its a steep uphill walk from the station to the hotel. You can take the cable car up the hotel (the Bart station is right by the end of the cable car line, but I wouldn't suggest trying to take luggage on the cable car, if they would even let you. If future conferences are held at this hotel, I will give them extra consideration.

A very nice place to stay- nice rooms, pretty good food, safe from panhandlers; staff were very friendly to us. A bargain compared with comparable hotels in New York and Europe. Good location close to restaurants, shopping, cable cars. We never waited longer than 5 minutes for a taxi. A very nice touch was noted on arrival- the doorman checked our names on the luggage when we got there and relayed it to others without us knowing; on entering, the concierge at the door, the front desk, and the bellman all knew our names and greeted us with them.

Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton San Fransisco was wonderful. The staff was always ready to help and the Concierge recomended some great restaurants for us. We will definately stay here again.

The hotel set up my husband and I on what would seem like a great romantic dinner cruise along the harbor. The cruise was great. The hotel provided transportation to the pier but once the boat docked when the cruise was over, the hotel refused to send one of their taxis to pick us up. We wern't looking for a limo ride back. If you notice outside the hotel at anytime of the day or night, you will see anywhere from 3-6 taxis just hanging out waiting to take someone somewhere. I was six months pregnant and my husband and I were completely stranded. We tried calling for two hours to find any taxi to pick us up and nothing ever arrived. We tried to call the hotel several times asking them if they could step outside to ask any taxi to come get us and they refused. My parents spent over 400 a night for our stay, and they couldn't even do that for us. The funny part is that earlier duing the day, we stopeed in a fleebag motel who called a taxi for us (for free) when we were lost. We wern't even staying there. If it wasn't for the Captian of the ship who ran out into the street and flagged down a car, I have no idea how my 6 month pregnant butt would have walked all that way back. The pier was about 4 miles away from the hotel on a cold night. Also, we picked this hotel because it was one of the few to have a pool. Their pool was out of commission the entire stay and unable to use at all. I did hear Will Smith was staying there while we were, that was about the best and only good thing.
