This hotel calls itself a green hotel in order to spend next to no money in its management and operation. The pool water appears to have been changed sometime 5 years ago. I'm not kidding, the water is seriously cloudy. It's disgusting. The smell of chlorine, however, is overwhelming. Apparently chemicals, while not terribly green, are cheap. The hallways are un-air conditioned, which would make me think of how wonderful they were to not spend the electricity on it if the odor in the hallway was remotely bearable. Apparently the smell lives in the carpet somewhere that they are too cheap to replace. I'm serious, it's nauseating. And the sheets. Ahhh, the sheets! I'm not sure what they wash them with, but I'm thinking maybe they're too cheap to wash the sheets. The first set was stained with BLOOD (large, can't miss this size stain when you're making the bed), the second with mud, the third had a dirty footprint on it and the fourth was the wrong size. After the FOURTH set of dirty or too small sheets, when I personally marched down to the front desk, and night duty check in guy had the nerve to be DEFENSIVE! Unreal. The night cleaning guy, however, was very helpful and the only apologetic person in sight. He made sure my 5th set was the right size and clean. Do not try the bar. No matter how much you think you need a drink or several to help you sleep through the smell while laying cocooned in blood stained sheets, do not go into the bar. It's even dirtier and smellier than the hallways. This place is a dump. Spend your money on the Motel 8.

Most pet friendly motel I've found. Free dog biskets, dog play area, very healthy restaurant. My dog jumped out of the car, entered the lobby when the automatic doors opended and she was welcomed with a organic dog bisket.

Nice blues saloon-cafe with a great menu. Good breakfast, friendly staff, very nice pool. Room door was loose and drafty. Bed was poor with reg. sheets-pad that will wad up over night. Card keys worked poorly.

 by  anonymous  on  2007-08-07

Very clean! Great staff, went above and beyond our expectations. Called for extra towels and we were going to the front to get them and they got to us before we could get out of the room. They really try to keep it *green*. They recycle abundantly. Our group of 6 family members had four rooms in two different areas, and they were wonderful. My sis said it was the nicest room overall she had ever been in, and she used to be a travel agent. Tasty, organic breakfast, yum! We loved the homemade granola. Great location! We were there to see our daughter perform in the Colorado Shakes, and it was just minutes from the University campus. Lots of stores, Pearl Street, the Hill and other places within 3-4 minutes by car. Lots of family stuff for younger kids, too...ours are grown, but we saw some younger kids with family in the pool and the area adjacent. Someone also had their wedding activities there. For the price and area, GREAT value.Only one caveat. We got a room right by the outer entrance door on the side of the hotel. Since you have to use your key to enter this way from the parking lot, it was very busy in the early am, and people tended to talk and holler alot, sometimes at night. But, overall, it was excellent!!Enjoy!

I liked the good spirits and style of this hotel. I liked reception. I used massage service. The price was reasonable. I felt people like to work at this hotel. Good access to main road. There are a few restaurants in walking distance. There is a small area for dogs.

 by  anonymous  on  2007-07-02

We listened to a dog bark for an hour and a half! The first room we were given had urine all over the bathroom floor. Needs paint/ carpet/ ceiling tiles. Pool is great- esp. if you have kids. Staff was nice enough.
