Get Here soon
After 10 years of skiing in the USA we found a gem of a package at the Stonebridge Inn at Snowmass/Aspen.Everything about this hotel pleased us...
Second visit to Snowmass, 1st stay at Stonebridge Inn, for 6 nights.. Booked a standard room - basic hotel room-two queen beds, nice decor, bedding was clean, mattresses were too soft for my liking but adequate. Bathroom was a bit cramped with tub and head - vanity area outside bath was functional with large underneath cabinet. The new 'hotel room' sized fridge was located under sink and was very good...actually kept drinks cold!Nice touch was foyer area upon entering where one could keep ski gear - easy access and out of the way. Not exactly ski in/out - 3-5 min walk to slope, then short distance downhill to lifts. Shares pool and hottub area with condos- pool was warm, clean, hottub was fine. Ski lockers on premise were handy. Self service - you received akey upon check-in. My son accidentally opened another locker with our key...locks were 'a bit sloppy.' Exercise room consisted of 1 elliptical, treadmill, bike, universal and hand freeweights. Had to go outside to get to exercise room. Elevator is slow -steps better.Complementary breakfast was good-fruit,cereral, yogurts, cheese, juice, milk, etc, but for price of room I expected some sausage and/or bacon, or even turkey/salami trays. I was told two hot dishes every morning...apparently one of the hot dishes is oatmeal, and the other is french toast, eggs, etc. Good selection of fresh fruit. Coffee was a little better (fuller body) than typical hotel coffee. One PC in lobby free internet -usually busy. Wireless in the rooms w/extra charge per day or week rate. For the room rate, I expected free wireless. Did not eat in hotel. No safe in room-would be nice.In summary, I would stay again, but I know much better accommodations for less can be had - look around.
The place was under construction, pool was closed and there were no areas to just sit and enjoy the facilities."
We stayed at the Stonebridge Inn for one night as an alternative to the more expensive hotels in Aspen. It was quiet and the hotel was great. Nice hot tubs and pools. The only real issue was the lack of open resaurants in the Snowmass area on a Sunday night (the hotel did have a restaurant, but we were looking for something more casual). I suspect most people went to Aspen to eat, which was about 10 miles away.
We stayed at Stonebridge this past March and had a FANTASTIC experience. The morning breakfast was ABOVE and beyond a normal freebie. The bar/restaurant was casua and priced well. The food was amazing. Try the trout and the PI Mussels/Thai style. Out of this world! We will be back again this March.
