I've stayed at this location each of the last 3 years. For someone whoe's actually working, I feel rejuvinated after leaving. It has more a resort feel. You could relax and have fun without leaving the building. The rooms, particularly on the top floor, are very comfortable with a great view. The lobby is has a very warm feel to it. If you like sushi, you need not leave the hotel for the best that I've ever tried. Their new Italian restaurant is casual AND excellent. The wine list is very good. The fitness center is decent for maintaining your workout regiment. Most of all, the employees and management appreciate your business and are very accomadating. The only downside, as a business traveler, is that the top level rooms have DSL connections (no wireless upstairs but they do in the lobby) in a very akward position. Make "desk" was a sofa with me facing the wall. Other than that, save your money from some of the other higher priced locations in Vail and stay at the Holiday Inn
Very poor smell (smoke) - made it feel very unclean. Bed/pillows were very uncomfortable. AC worked great, no screen on windows (which could let bugs in if you open through the night). Bathroom was OK - no complaints. The place looks nice from the street, and the price was right, but I would not stay again. We were only there one night but the room (and all hallways) smelled like dingy smoke (or like they tried to cover it up). It reminded me of Las Vegas casinos where they spray strong smelling scents to cover up smoke smell. We were on the 2nd floor and the entire floor smelled the same (including our room). I think you can find a similar deal in the area with better quality...
One of the best lobbys i have ever seen. Great room, three restaurents..all evry good. I got a great masage in their new spa. Good value
This hotel have many extras and is execellent the only complaint was that they put my family in a room with a broke bath room facilities. The house keeping is excellent and that save the stay
The only thing I didn't really like about the hotel was the breakfast/lunch restaurant. We only had breakfast there once, but it wasn't as good as it was touted to be. Not bad, just not great either. It is really nice that there is a walk-in cafe for coffee and bagels, though, and the sushi restaurant was very good. Located near a grocery, laundromat, (though the hotel has amenities for that), and a gas station for refilling your rental car. Very close to Lionshead and Vail Village, which have free buses. Very clean and inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area.
Spent 1/3 of the price at this hotel vs 4 star in the village.Nice facilities, huge sauna/steam room, shuttle worked out great. Rental for skis on site. Sushi bar has food specials and happy hour and had lots of locals. The only bad review I have for these guys is the timeshare business on premises. Obnoxious and pushy. Called room soliciting and loitered the lobby selling condos in neighboring village
