My elderly mother and I spent 3 nights at this hotel when we went to visit my son and his wife. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to their condo. I have no complaints. We arrived early and were told that we might have to wait for a clean room, but they were able to find one without any delay. The room was not large, but was certainly adequate for our needs. It was very clean. The dining area was large, we had no difficulty finding a table for breakfast. The staff was helpful storing our luggage when we had to check out before time to catch a ride to the airport, and summoned a driver when it was time for us to leaven. If I were to have a complaint, it would be the cost, which is a little pricey for a Hampton Inn, but not for an intown DC hotel. Clean, safe, comfortable, a nice place to stay.
A very nice hotel, conveniently located near the Capitol and the Gallery/Chinatown Metro station. Free Internet where others charge for it; staff friendly and helpful to visitors from many countries; other nice touches like a free business center with a couple of computers and a printer; staff kept breakfast well-stocked. It was pouring rain in the morning and a staff member hustled to buy a box of umbrellas to re-sell to guests at a reasonable price--an enterprising and welcome move. I got a good room rate (for the heart of DC) through Travel agency and wasn't expecting this level of service; I rarely both to write reviews, but I highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel was very nice, very clean, breakfast was good - more than your usual hotels that offer free breakfast. Good location near Verizon Center and Chinatown. Would definitely stay there again.
The Hampton was clean and the staff friendly. Overall a nice stay. Parking on the street is hard to come by but the hotel does have secure valet parking in its own deck--* per day so you need to add that to your budget.
nice stay...only problem was chaotic staff use of elevators led to long lead time for elevator service
