Far better than we had hoped.
Highly recommend this hotel for visitors to D.C. It is perfectly located to view all the monuments and museums and to walk to some great restaurants in the downtown area. The metro is very close for farther locations. The rooms are large, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant and bar is excellent. Lots of French people and diplomates stay here, and the atmosphere reflects this.
This hotel was defintely a 10. It was clean, quiet, friendly, modern.....well, everything you would want in a hotel! All of our needs were met in a flash, we felt safe, the concierge was very helpful, and we even had a flat screen TV.The only down side of my experience was the cost of the hotel restaurant and room service. But, the quality was outstanding, and the service was great. But, expect to pay over 20 for eggs and bacon at the restaurant off the lobby.The location is outstanding! The White House is a block and a half away, there is a fabulous deli just a few doors down (Loeb's)....but they are only open during the week. There are lots of great restaurants within a short walking distance. The Metro is a block away. We felt VERY safe walking around the area in the evening.This hotel defintely deserves 5 stars!I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Sofitel Lafayette Square, measures up to the 4.5 star name. The staff was very pleasant and poliet. The rooms and decor was impeccable and the experience was one I will never forget. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, whether it is for a romantic getaway or business trip, this hotel will meet your every need. The bathroom floors were a little slippery, so be careful, other than that I plan on staying at this brand of hotels from now on. Thanks for making my weekend perfect!!!
A little europe in the middle of Washington! Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, wonderful accomodations! Very close to the tourist attractions. We will definately be staying there again.
The hotel was outstanding! The rooms were spacious with modern design. Very Clean. The location was very good. Walking distance to the monuments. The subway was a block away. One thing though it seems like their systems suck. Our Travel agency reservation didn't flow to their system so we had hard time checking in. Further I ordered breakfast in the morning. After waiting for an hour I called back and I was told again that they don't see my order in the system. Despite the service I would stay again in the hotel. It is definitely a "Four Seasons" quality.
