The beachfront Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is part of the 2,400-acre Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, which is one mile from the Silver Sands Factory Stores and approximately 25 miles from Okaloosa Regional Airport. The hotel's 15-story and seven-story towers overlook the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. This location is two miles from Miramar Beach, seven miles from the Henderson Beach State Recreation Area, 10 miles from Big Kahuna's Lost Paradise and Destin, 17 miles from Fort Walton Beach, 20 miles from the Gulfarium, 50 miles from Panama City Beach, and 57 miles from Pensacola. The resort's amenities include the private beach, marina, 15 tennis courts, four golf courses, health spa, one indoor and two outdoor freeform pools. On Site restaurants include Barefoots Beachside Bar & Grill, Seagar's Prime Steaks and Seafood, Sandcastles Restaurant and Lounge, and Picnix Deli. The spa's fitness center has cardiovascular equipment, steam rooms, saunas, spa tubs, personal trainers, and yoga classes. Complimentary trams provide transportation within the resort. The resort also offers concierge assistance, a seasonal kids' program, a business center, valet and self parking (fee applies), 24-hour front desk service, dry cleaning, laundry facilities, and Internet access in public areas. Pros: Great beach and beach access, great amenities, very nice rooms, and very nice pool. Cons: A 4-star resort at a near 5-star price, they tend to "nickel and dime" you (valet, beach umbrellas, business center, etc. were all on the high side - Hawaii type prices) & their treatment of "regular" guest versus "group" guest. More than half of their beach umbrellas were pre-reserved for group guest. If you were a regular guest, you were pretty much out of luck and they could have cared less about it. Suggestions: If you want a beach umbrella, reserve it the day before. It the beach is too crowded for you, there are some very nice and uncrowded local beaches around. But if a crowded beach is not for you I wouldn't stay here.
To keep it short the good 1. really close to the beach 2. heated pools 3. great golf the bad (where do I begin) 1. the rooms feel sticky 2. the hotel staff is really smug, and didn't care to help ( for example, the hotel host pointed us to the pamplets of list of things to do, and got back on the phone. No help at all, tried to rush us with out explaining the area or selections of attivicates to do. We asked for directions and they told us to call the number. When we did it was arcoss the street at the bay. 3. they ran out of towles at the pool, and said to come back in an hour, they told us this three times.( three hour wait) 4. the restaurant staff was nice, but the kitchen was a problem. We sat down after a long drive for lunch, and watched everyone around ( who came after us) order after us and reiceve there lunch before us. There was a family that we happen to talk with sitting next to us (*who came after us) leave before we got our lunch. 5. Etc. I work over sixty hours a week in the service industry, and my family saved up to talk this trip. On my worse day the group I work with was better then what we got. It wasn't the hotel that made it not worth the trip, it was the way the staff over looked everyone, and did not care about taking care of their guest. We have traveled to other parts of Florida, San Juan, Hawaii, New Orleans, Chicago, Jamacia, San Antonio etc. This was the worse service ever!!
Construction at hotel during our stay right outside our window. We had to be moved due to noisy neighbors in adjoining room, but hotel staff was more than accomodating to do so. Next room had a problem with electrical outlets but again the staff had it fixed the same day. Overall a decent hotel but not worth the nightly rate they are charging.
I recently stayed at the Hilton Beach resort and *SPA* in Destin Florida for my honeymoon and everything went smooth except I was NOT told that the SPA was going to be closed for remodeling!!! The main reason that I booked a room at this location is that it had a SPA in the hotel!!! This would of been nice to know at the time of booking!!! This is valuable information to know when you advertise as a RESORT AND SPA!!! If I would of been informed of this I probly wouldn't of stayed there!!! When I expressed this problem with the manager on duty he seemed like he didn't care. All he did was told me another location in town of a different Spa. I don't know what anyone can do to fix this problem but I think it needs to be addressed.Also I wanted to get on the internet and didn't have my laptop so I asked the hotel staff if they had a bussiness center and he pointed me in its direction. When I got there another HUGE supprise 5 for 10 mins to use their computer!!! Are these people serious?? A multi-million dollar corperation has to nickel and dime everything!!! Come on people I have stayed at a motel 6 and got to use the internet for FREE!!!Other than the stated above the room was great we stayed in one of the beach front suites and it was awesome!!! Also we ate in the steakhouse in the hotel and the food was fantastic!!! I highly recommend that part of the hotel!!! So it comes down to this if you like to pay for everything and not be able to use the amenities in the hotel then stay here...if not STAY ELSEWHERE!!! DON"T RECOMMEND!!!

This was our third time staying at this hotel. We go every October. Great rates and wonderful accomodations. The rooms have been recently updated and are soo nice. We did see a lot of sharks at the beach this year. Two days in a row early in the moring there were sharks swimming up and down the shore. They were about 5' long and slender. The water is so clear you can see them coming from a long way off. ... I love everything about this hotel. The kids really enjoy the bunkbeds and my husband and I enjoy having the extra space. This is the best place to stay in Destin!!
