Our visit was very disapponting. After being greeted by the bell staff and getting a tour by Chris. We were very impressed. Little did we know the bell staff were the most professional and friendly employees there. It was all down hill from there. After getting to our room, we discovered there were two light bulbs burned out and when we took a shower the door leaked and flooded the bathroom. We called to make dinner reservations in the Altantic Edge restaurant only to be told we did not need them. However, upon going down to dinner at 8 pm we were sent to another restaurant to be sat in the Altantic Edge. We found out later this was because they were extremely under staffed. The hostess told us the staff in Atlantic Edge Rest. were swamped, even though only a few tables were occupied. The hotel had only a 55% occupancy. They asked if we would like to sit in the restaurant and my husband said "sit us where you can give us the best service". We sat down and waited. Several minutes later someone put bread in front of us and ran off. No water, no greeting. The few staff that were there were literally running around and complaining among themselves, which everyone in the room could hear. We sat for at least 10 mintes. Other guests got up and left. I went to the front desk and asked for a manger only to be told there was not one on duty only a floor supervisor. At this time I also reported the problems in my room, which were never fixed before we checked out. There were never any apologies or attempt to improve our stay.
Cheeca is the best place to stay in the upper keys with superb accomodations without the craziness of Key West.
This is a 5 star resort! Our room was located in an area with a nice view and the room was clean and nicely decorated. No need to get a renovated room. The rooms that have not be renovated are still 100% better than most hotels. I would suggest using all of the amenties of the resort. It was paradise. Can't wait to go again. I preferred staying in a room that was not located in the lodge. I would always try to get a room with a balcony. Most rooms in the lodge do not have balconies. The food at the restaurant was great and the Tiki bar is part of this tropical vacation.
My husband and I just got back, and we loved it! We got upgraded to a beach bungalow right on the water's edge. The pool and service were great. It was also close to a lot of other places to eat, just a short drive or walk from the resort to other restaurants. Fod at the resort was good too."
Beautiful grounds, every service person was super nice, super attentive and everyone very friendly. Our room was nonrenovated but very clean and very well appointed. Although we had reserved a property view room we had been upgraded to an oceanfront room (very nice) when we arrived. The restaurant had delicious food, excellent, very friendly service and ambience but was pricey. Would return in a heartbeat. Only one minus, we were not informed that the main pool would be closed for resurfacing during our stay but the spa pool was open, it was deeper and very nice.
We had a room above the bar. We didn't sleep for three days. You can here everything on every floor, and they don't mind illegal fireworks at 2Am outside the window. If we ever go again, it will either be quiet or I will make sure no one sleeps there that night!
Very Satisfy
A Hotel with alot of History, good service and a great view of the ocean, I will go back, soon.
