Travelocity Reviews ( 3 Reviews ) Top

I stayed the past weekend here and had a great time. The location is perfect. The pools are real nice and kid friendly. The beach is real nice along with the fishing pier. This hotel had a bunch of activities. The staff at the check-in desk were very friendly and helpful. The only problems I had were the bed and the pool towels. The bed felt like a lumpy hard box spring. My 7 month pregnant wife and I went to the check-in desk first thing in the morning after our first night. The woman at the check-in desk was extremely nice and helpful. She put in an order to fix the problem; however the maintenance guy said abruptly, "There is nothing we can do, we have no extra beds". They did nothing else to even attempt to fix the our problem. Needless to say, we spent another sleepless night in the torturous bed. I went to the pool with my 6 year old daughter. We asked an attendant for pool towels. The attendant acted like he had no time for us. He told me in a nasty tone that there are no more pool towels and that I have to use my room towels. As I walked away, another attendant who realized how nasty his co-worker was being stopped me and told me that if I go to the check-in desk, I could get some more towels. Aside from a couple employees with bad attitudes, the Islander Resort is awesome, just bring an air mattress just in case.

This resort is a surprise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The outside of the buildings look a little retro but the inside of the rooms are updated and nice. The pool area is very nice and the beach very clean. The food is good at the resteraunt also. This is a great place to to stay with family or to just relax for a few days.

We stayed here on a recomendation from family, and they were right! A real gem, outside is retro looking, rooms are new, clean and fun! I AM staying again this year.
