I thought this was going to be a plush resort, especially after seeing photos online. Apartment was very dirty. Thick layer of crumbs under the coffee table glass. Furniture needed cleaning. Bedding was old and worn. Carpets were badly stained. Walls needed painting - scuff marks throughout. Kitchen sparsely equipped. Ant problem in kitchen - had to refrigerate everything. Not much to do at the resort considering most of it was closed for renovations. Would never return to this resort - there appears to be many resorts throughout the Keys that would be much nicer than Hawks Cay.

We stayed at Hawks Cay for mini lobster season, with my husbands family we had 2 conch villas that were very clean and nicely decorated. We were able to pull our small boat up to the shoreline behind our villa and the boys came and went for lobsters. The pools were beautiful. The people there were so helpful. The only slightly bad thing was we had to pay for our boat to be docked at their marina. Other than that we had a great experiance. We can't wait to see the hotel when it is done with the renovations.

Hawk's Cay sounds great 'on paper' and is wonderful in concept but, it seems as though it has not had much updated since it was remodeled in the early 80s. The kid's activities/pool area sounded so great but, we found lots of things broken and not being done the way their literature claims. Our room was nice in some respects but, had furniture with drawers that would not open....carpets that needed to be replaced....bathtub that wobbled, etc. The lagoon was a dissapointment also, as were many of the water sports/tours, etc. on the brochure. We would not return here for the price!!!!!

I had stayed at hawks cay years ago,and had a pleasant experience. The breakfast buffet that was included was great. Now they charge extra for everything. not only breakfast cost, but a 10 a day resort fee is added and if you use any of the facility there is a fee involved!!

This hotel is very nice, clean and has lots of activities for families. Great tennis, several pools from which to choose, biking and much more.

Stayed at the hotel, and found no heat in the rooms. Due to cold weather, we had to request a space heater, which did not make me feel too comfortable safety wise...dresser draeers in disrepair.
