I would not recommend this hotel to anyone going on a vacation the restaurant was very expensive, the hotel is very old, there was no remodeling done to the room we stayed in on the 7th floor, the bathroom needs to be remodeled and was not very clean. There are no restaurants in walking distance, the shuttle was free if you could catch it at the right time and don't count on it picking you up after you have been dropped off, we had to take a taxi back each time after calling and waiting on the shuttle for hours. We finally got a rental car, the best thing about the hotel was one of the shuttle drivers was an older gentleman he was very friendly he told us how to get around town and pointed out places to go on maps that he gave us and told us if we get lost to call the hotel and he would try to help and a person (R) we meet that works in the kitchen that needs to be at the front desk he gave us a lot of good tips about Tampa and on the day we checked out after paying for a bad cup of coffee and parking we ask the lady at the front desk for direction to the airport and we were given the wrong direction the airport is 275 south NOT North. must I go on...

This hojo was a lot different than your usual Howard Johnson, it was recently renovated to a nice modern look. It has the cheapest downtown tampa hotel rate and if you live downtown than you know that you have to pay for parking everywhere and this hotel has the cheapest parking rate of 8.00 dollars compared to the Hyatt which is 23.00 Staff was extremely friendly especially the young ladies at the front desk. The shuttle service is free, but it is based on availabilty, so for that there is a trolly right across the street for .50 cents, that takes you to dining and attraction areas. Just loved it! would def stay again

The front desk staff know absolutely nothing about Tampa dining, transportation, or activities. They really don't care to know. The shuttle is very hit-or-miss we found out after waiting 1.5 hrs at airport for it. Our room was seedy, with filthy carpet, loud AC and in need of many minor repairs. This hotel's staff is clueless about customer service.

For 200 per night, this hotel leaves MUCH to be desired. No toiletries in the room, no pharmacy or gift shop for aspirin, pay for parking, restaurant was useless and expensive, staff was friendly

This hotel was remodeled in June 2007 and is in very nice shape. The rooms have new capter as in the hallways. The bathroon was re-tiled and very clean.

The intial check in process was hectic, I booked and pre-paid 4 rooms at the same time, when we got there they couldn't find where I had book 4 rooms. Luckily I brought all my paperwork. After a 30 minute ordeal of checking-in we went to our rooms. The rooms weren't bad, about average. They offer free shutlle for local areas.... good luck!!! When we tried to get the shuttle to take us to the Lightning game, it would have made us late for the game, so we ended up walking. We were told if we called by 10:45pm we would be picked up from the game to come back (the driver gets off work at 11pm). We called at 10:15 and was told the van would be there in 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, I called back and was told the van was not coming to get us, he had gone to the airport now and he wouldn't have time to pick us up. So we walked back to the hotel. Once there I asked for my money back, and would just drive home. After an hour ordeal, I finally was told they would refund me. We packed our stuff back up, as we entered the parking lot (in which you have to pay to park, that is not told up front after you get there!), the van pulled up to drop passengers off, the time was 12:00 midnight, so much for the driver going home at 11:00. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. They need some customer service training and attitude adjustments and the front desk.
