We stayed at the hotel with the hopes of experiencing a great week. Had 2 spider bites in the room while we were there and one as I was packing to leave. The many phone calle to the Jane and to the Owner were never returned. Follow up is Horrible. Quaint hotel, but still experiencing problems with the spider bites 2 months later and no return calls from the staff! Also the Wireless never worked while we were there. I had to go to Starbucks three times to get work done after NO assistance from the staff!
This hotel was wonderful. The location was great. The staff was fantastic. I hated to leave. Everything was so quaint, so nice, very comfortable. We had a very nice honeymoon stay.
Our first visit to St Pete. Great old Hotel nicely refurbished. Great staff. Good breakfast and free happy hour are great Wife and I had wonderful long weekend. Our shower needed some attention (on/off knob and window). Otherwise, no complaints. Will return.
The Pier is more reminiscent of a B-class English bed & breakfast than a true hotel. The decorating scheme is truly gawdy. 'Happy hour' consists of beer, wine, popcorn & nuts; no chicken wings, cheeses, crackers or fruit. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the small bathroom suffices. Half of the rooms look to the side of a beat-up building 5 feet away. The location is good and the staff was friendly and cheerful. They're trying hard, but don't get your hopes up for a class act here. If you only need a place to sleep, then OK.
Bed-room paint work was not a crisp/clean finish. Crackled paintwork grundgy and unprofessional looking.
The hotel is located in walking distance to the Pier, good restaurants, museums, and Baywalk (shopping, movies). The rooms are small, but nicely furnished. Bed was too soft and uncomfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Morning breakfast and evening *free* happy hour are a definite plus. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
