My family and I stayed here on the way home from our vacation in the Keys. It was NOT a good experience from the moment we arrived. Road construction makes it difficult to turn in. Once inside, the front desk staff person was unfriendly, was watching television that was on in the lobby and laughing at the cartoon that was on rather than giving his full attention to us. When I asked him questions, I felt like I was disturbing his television viewing. We thought about leaving but we had our small dog with us and didn't know if other hotels down the road would accept pets. Room was hot and musty. Carpet looked unclean and was in much need of replacement. None of us slept well as the room was so hot and the beds incredibly uncomfortable. Sad way to end our vacation.

First "non-smoking" room assigned to us reeked of nicotine. Maid, waiting for her overdue check on Friday night, indicated that five men had been in the room for a week and declined housekeeping service the entire stay. We asked to be reassigned and were given a different room after a 30 minute rate. Front desk staff was in no particular hurry to help us, even though there were no other customers waiting. A safe was supposedly available in the room for a 1 per night fee, but the safe was locked by the previous users and the front desk did not have the capability to unlock it. The charge was deleted from our bill. Road work in front of the hotel makes arrival from the south a "suicide turn" from a dead stop in the left (fast) lane of northbound Hwy 27. Worst of all, when we departed, the room was billed to our credit card even though we had already pre-paid through online travel! I complained to the desk agent and refused to sign the charge authorization, but she insisted she had no evidence of prepayment. We later called online travel and they spoke to the manager, who had the duplicate charge removed from our bill. Rest assured we'll never stay here again!

Clean rooms and sweet orange scent fills the air!Orange groves behind and across the street from the hotel. Rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Only bad thing is that E.S.P.N. was on the cable channels!
