We really enjoyed the Seaside Inn, the room was very nice, every room has a view to the beach which is within walking distance to all of the rooms, the staff was very friendly, the pool was nice, the grounds were kept very nice, the complimentary breakfast basket (with fruit , bagels, cream cheese, and yogurt) brought to your room each evening for the next morning was great. The hotel offers free bike rental, plastic beach toy use, beach chairs, and umbrellas. We did not have our lap top but I did notice there was ethernet or wireless internet access in the room. You can find some shells on the beach behind Seaside Inn and the like, but the best shells were at the Public Beach Turner Beach and Bowman Beach. We did the Ding Darling Tram Cruise and the Ding Darling Boat Cruise, the boat cruise was very interesting. If I had it to do over, I would probably just drive through Ding Darling instead of going with the Guide. It is 5.00 to drive through/car load, and 13.00 for adults and 8.00 for children for the tram tour, also the Tram was not air condiitionied and it was extremely hot.
We had a great time, husband, wife and 2 year old son. The room was very comforatable for a beach vacation. The screened in porch was a nice touch. The location was fantastic. The pool was nice, but did not have a fence (not a regulation in FL). They even had a borrow/return sand toy area, which was very convenient. The breakfast basket was wonderful. We felt like we had our own private beach at times. The staff was very friendly and nice.
Good access to beach, restaurants, tennis, and shopping. Very nice for a long week-end stay.
My husband had always wanted to go to Sanibel...for the shells. This hotel has the wonderful feel of the "old beach" but all the comforts and cleanliness of something brand new. We were completely satisfied from the moment we checked in. All the staff were friendly and helpful...we especailly enjoyed having our umbrella set up for a day at the beach! From rinsing shells to directing us to good resturants this resort has it all covered. We hope to go back with our children. Perhaps the only odd thing was the lack of a closet or rack to hang clothes on in our room....I guess you really don't need that for the beach!
I picked this one blind but was super pleased with the results! The room was comfortable and clean, staff was unbelievable (we loved having beach chairs and umbrella put out for us) and ocean view was just outside our door. Only thing missing was a closet...but you don't need hanging clothes to come to the beach! We will come back and bring the family.
This Inn is great! Staff was awesome, and the free use of bikes was a treat for getting around the island. Beach location is good, lawn and pool nice for lounging with a book. Breakfast included was a nice touch. DVD and book library a plus, too. They also can arrange for tours to pick up at hotel. Everything is on site, no need to wander too far.
Laid-back seclusion and a variety of views.
