The Lido Beach Resort is one of the most comfortable places we've stayed at, with great customer service and numerous amenities. At check-in, they upgraded us to a beach front room at no charge. The room had a fridge, cook top stove, dishwasher, and microwave oven. My wife enjoyed the free Starbucks coffee each morning. There are two large pools, with three hot tubs. One pool is for adults only, and the other for families. The beach front is beautiful, with chairs available to guests at no charge. There is a garden area where you can sit and relax as well, with a beautiful view of trees and a pond. We ate and drank at the Tiki bar, and we found the bartenders (Laura and Dennis) extremely friendly, and they provided outstanding service. The Key Lime Pina Colada was outstanding! We also ate at the formal restaurant (Lido Beach Grille), and received a free bottle of wine from a survey we completed online during our stay. All of the food was great, even at the Tiki Bar. Try the crab cakes and the grouper sandwich. Most importantly, all the of hotel employees were friendly and courteous, even the maids. The hotel is very close to St. Armands Circle, which has great shopping, food, and entertainment. St. Armands Circle is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We read all the other good reviews of the hotel on this site, and they were all true. That's why we stayed at Lido Beach Resort instead of some of the others. You can't go wrong with Lido Beach Resort. We'll stay there again when we visit Sarasota next time. This was truly a romantic getaway for my wife and I!
Vacation was great here. Hated to go and cannot wait to go again. Food was delicious and presentaion was great. Staff friendly and courteous and always greated us daily. Location great. Transportation to and from St. Armand's Circle - great shops. Beach beautiful, entertainment nice and gift shop is awesome...you need to purchase a beach towel for sure....colorful and soft - first class stay. Breezeways with furniture to relax and wooded bridges to cross over - cannot say enough.
I brought my 2 college age daughters for a little christmas break get away. Facilities/rooms/pool absolutely gorgeous, lots to do and everyone was happy. Staff very friendly and eager to please. Everything was spotless! Can't say enough! We will be back as soon as everyone has a break again! Fabulous!!!! The Bomb!!!
Sometimes a room is just a room. What makes a difference in a hotel is the attention to detail and the attitude of the staff. Often I've stayed at 5 star resorts with a staff that could care less and it's made for a rather awful experience. At the Lido Beach Resort the Staff IS the experience. Yes, the hotel in right on the beach and yes they have a beautiful pool gorgeous rooms and comfy beds. What they could never show you via a website is the charm of this place and the tremendous care and attention that each employee pays to making sure you are comfortable, happy and pampered. It's the small things, like 4 bottles of water in the room ( for FREE I might ad- no 4 hang tags on the bottles like some places here) replenished daily to make sure you are quenched. The gals that work the lobby bar- Talking to you as if you have been there a hundred times before - You immeadiatly feel like family. The front desk staff ready to suggest a restaurant- provide directions - Call a cab anything to make sure you are enjoying Sarasota. I happened to be there for business. I can't say enough about the catering staff - I actually hated leaving them. Somehow they seemed to be everywhere, making sure coffee urns were always full - Cold things stayed cold and hot things were always served piping hot! My hat goes off to the staff as that is what makes this place special. Do yourself a favor and visit this hotel and take a second to chat with the employees. You'll be glad you did!
We stayed in a One bedroom Suite, It was nice enough. The only complaint I had was that the showers are a bit old and run down. This should be updated. There are two big pools, one of which is just for adults. The beach comes right up to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the tiki bar by the pool was great. They provided free chairs for the beach as well as towels and offered cabana rentals for only 15.00 a day. I would go back again. It was a wonderful beach vacation.
Great, quiet location. Staff is superb!
