As another reviewer wrote, don't let the outside of the lodges fool you. Our one bedroom suite was completely remodeled sometime in the past couple of years. Granite countertops in the kitchen and bath, great king sized bed, new (very clean) carpet. I had stayed here for business about 4 years ago, so I told my husband to expect an 80s look for our room. We were pleasantly surprised. We were within walking distance of the Lochness Monster pool which our 3 year old LOVED. It is zero entry so I could sit in the water with our 4 month old while the 3 year old walked in and out, played on the "beach" and in the fountains. They even have toys for kids to play with all over the pool area. We had room service for breakfast one morning and dinner one night. Service was quick and the food was great. The staff by the pool was very nice. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay for a family vacation.
We had booked this hotel specifically for the 4 golf courses advertised on the property. Surprise! We were greeted by two, repeat, two junior tournaments which tied up 3 couses per day, and all the practice areas. All of the adult guests and members were forced onto the remaining course. Nothing was mentioned either on the website or during a phone conversation prior to booking. If we had known this, we would not have come. We played 2 rounds in 6 days, as there was a third convention after the juniors left. Not what we had in mind! Our room was small, needed updating, the bed was horrible, and had no refrig/minibar. We had asked for a balcony but were told they were sold out and would look and get back to us. Nothing. Dinner was beautifully presented at Packard's Steakhouse, but the wait at the other restaurants was awful, again, they were just overwhelmed with tournament players.
We visited The Westin Innisbrook looking for sun and golf. We were pleasantly suprised. The room was spacious (suite) with a mini kitchen and beautiful balcony. Make sure to get a golf view room. The golf was great!!! We loved the pool!!! We really enjoyed the walking paths. We used the fitness and walking paths every day. The grounds were kept so nice and we felt like we had a perfect getaway. Next year we plan to go and bring the family too. Great for couples, but we know there is plenty to do with the family too.

The Coppehead course is the best one here, and really worth play, but I'd pass on the rest. here's a link to the Tampa area of Forelinksters where golfers rate the better golf courses to play: http://forelinksters.com/course/location/37058/state/FL/city/Tampa
