My wife and I were in Savannah for a two day trip and booked the HIE for the night. The rooms feel brand new and have very nice appointments. Not to historical standards but there is plenty of other old stuff in Savannah. We were on the 2nd floor which had a bit too much road noise but otherwise was fine. The pool on the roof offered great views of the bridge, convention center and Bay Street. Great hotel for a visit to Savannah.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would be going to Savannah. We were able to park our car and do our sightseeing on foot. As the Hotel was right on the cornor .
There are no complaints except, our A/C wasn't very good, they fixed it but still not the best. However, the staff is excellent, very nice and very helpful. The location is wonderful, the place is clean. The breakfast is very good, good variety! I would definitely give it 4.5 stars out of 5!
Our experience was wonderful! We requested early checkin due to mother's handicap and bad weather. We waited briefly in the exquisitely designed lobby. We had requested a handicapped room with adjoining room. The rooms were super clean. Loved the central air, the beds and small balcony (3rd floor). Breakfast was very filling. Loved the sausage gravy & biscuits! The employees demonstrated southern hospitality. The Hotel a great stay & in the middle of price range for area.
I did not expect a HI Express to be this nice. The room was great (except for the ""thin walls""). The furnishings were excellent (nice pillow-top bed, LCD TV, Wi-Fi). A very nice complementary continental breakfast and a large lobby to eat it in was included. Once they get through their growing pains (only open for a month), it will be a great place to stay in Savannah. Don't get a room next to the elevator.
All the staff that we encountered were courteous and helpful. The room was not only beautiful, but very clean and neat. The beds were wonderful. The continental breakfast was incredible: bacon, sausage, eggs, pastries, fruit, etc. The hotel location was ideal for visiting Savannah. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night. We plan to return and stay longer to check out the other amenities.
