Located on historic Jones Street, one of Savannah's most charming downtown residential addresses, the Inn is within walking distance to shops, antique stores, museum houses, Civil War memorials, beautiful old churches and Savannah's restaurants.Built for Eliza Thompson in 1847, this landmark inn recalls a prosperous time in Savannah when elegant parties in fine homes were popular. The main house consists of twelve stately guest rooms. The courtyard addition contains another thirteen. The rooms at the Eliza Thompson House are reflective of the original decor. Each is tastefully and uniquely furnished with period furniture as well as modern amenities and a private bath.Mornings at the Eliza Thompson House feature a Southern-made breakfast with casserole dishes, freshly baked breads, bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit, juices and coffee--all served in the courtyard, right outside the Carriage House's guestroom doors. Each evening between 5:30-7pm the parlor becomes a place to meet fellow guests and the innkeeper. Homemade hors d'oeuvres, wine, coffee, tea, and soft drinks are served during this reception. Desserts and coffee are served from 8:30-10pm. Southern desserts are featured, using select recipes from some of Savannah's most famous restaurants.Evenings feature turndown service, freshly pressed sheets, and luxuriously soft robes.

As soon as we pulled up to the hotel, the innkeeper knew exactly who we were. The concierge then took us and our bags to our room, right off the delightful courtyard with fountain and dripping with spanish moss. He then ushered us to the wine reception where we chatted with some other guests and compared notes. The room was perfect, the hot breakfast bar was complete with homemade casseroles, the staff was exceptionally accommodating and polite, and the location was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel - exceptional service at less than half the price of other bed & breakfasts in Savannah.

Our vacation in Savannah was wonderful. The Eliza Thompson House is a beautiful bed and breakfast. The food is wonderful, but our room was very dusty. The bathrooms are small and depending on the floor that you are on there are many stairs to climb.

My wife and I went for our tenth wedding anniversary. Everything was clean and the service was great, one note the bathroom was small. The morning breakfast was very good and tasted fresh. Enjoyed the afternoon wine tasting got to meet the other nice people in the B&B. Recommend Mrs. Wilkes buffet which is one block away, great southern food. Nice location but expect a 10-15 minute walk to the river or city market area.

Great B&B place. The house looks great and most welcoming. You truly need to take your time and appreciate the historic surroundings. Truly a friendly southern place. Can't wait to go back and stay a little longer.

The Eliza Thompson House is without a doubt top notch. From meeting us on the street to take our bags, turn down service, to the gourmet breakfast everything was taken care of. Will send my daughter and future son in law here for their honeymoon in November.
