It was a little more expensive but that's probably because everything has to be shipped from Oahu to Maui. The open-air restaurant above the pool is fabulous for a sunset drink or the strawberry parfait! The beach is a little rocky but there's still room to layout...or you could rent two cabana chairs with umbrellas for * per day. I didn't do the beachside massage but they were actually booked almost the entire three days we were there.

My family and I were treated like royalty from the minute we drove up the driveway until the minute we checked out. The staff is well trained in customer service. The resort is awesome. We felt that we didn't need to leave the resort or Kaanapoli Beach. Everything we wanted to do was right there. The Hyatt has activities for all ages. The gym has all of the best equipment so pack your work-out outfit. When you lay by the pool, you will be waited on by a wonderful staff. The pool is great. There is a kiddy section of the pool that looks really cool. The waterslide for the older kids is great. They also had evening activities including a family movie by the pool a couple nights while we were there. The breakfast buffet is delicious. You need to get there before 8 a.m. so you don't have to stand in line for a table. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan on returning to this resort again real soon.

We love the Hyatt Maui, after researching tons of hotels on Maui we chose the Hyatt because it had everything we were looking for, great restaurants, beautiful views, shopping in the hotel and reasonable proximity to attractions. The breakfast buffet was a nice touch, we started each day with a full breakfast and found we spent more time enjoying our stay than looking for places to eat while we were out exploring. The shops are nice, there is a small Macy's and several boutique stores in the hotel with clothing, local arts, gifts and snacks. The hotel staff was absolutely wonderful, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to visit this hotel.

My husband and I visited Maui last June and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. We loved it so much that we decided to return for a shorter stay this spring. The grounds are very nice and spread out enough that you don?t feel cramped, but you also only have a short walk to get to from one side of the resort to the other. We love staying on Kaanapali beach since there are so many ammenites and restaurants, but being at the Hyatt is the best because it is toward the end and therefore doesn?t have too much ?beach traffic?. The other reviewers talked about how small the Hyatt?s beach is, but they have a big nice, quite beach right in front of the spa. They must have been walking toward Whalers Village and missed it. Speaking of the spa; check out their facilities! You can get a 25min beach front massage for less than in the spa and still use their facilities, or you can pay 15 for a day and it is really worth it. It?s a great place to relax and get cleaned up after a day at the beach. This is very handy if you have a late flight, but want to hang out at the pool or beach after checkout. It?s a lot nicer than the free locker rooms and you can use their body products, hairdryers and curling iron. Oh, don?t pay for the upgrade to a partial ocean view, we had more of an ocean view from our terrace on the first floor and the rooms are exactly the same. Besides, you will only be in your room when it?s dark.

The grounds are very, very well kept, with lots of eye candy. The endless stores and shops off the lobby were a plus. The front desk was friendly and service was prompt. Room service was always 30 min or less. Meals were (way over priced)but made up in serving size. The Regency Club Lounge offered a great relief in between meals. Its host, fresh snacks and endless Starbucks coffee was a great bonus feature. The free trolly to Whalers Village helped us since we did not rent a car. House keeping was hard at work all day, keeping linens fresh and changed. We didnt go to the pool alot but chairs were often taken. My 11yo son went to Camp Hyatt (6p-10p) but was bored. He did not want to go back due to the # of toddlers he was mixed with. My only complaint about Camp Hyatt is they need games/staff for the older kids they serve. We were treated very well and if it were not sooooo far from Richmond, Va we would return much sooner.
