They claim that they are the most hawaiian hotel, and they were. Although one of the older hotels, it was clean, staff was friendly, and the departing ceremony quite charming. After finding out it was our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, a bottle of champagne and two glasses were awaiting our return that evening. Location is excellent! I highly recommend this hotel.

We researched alot of places to stay on our 25th anniversary. We were impressed by the number of people who had stayed 5 times or more. The hotel was everything that we had expected. If you are going to stay in Kaanapali this is the best location. You are central to everything there, swim, eat, golf, shop. You won't have to drive to any of those activities. Free entertainment every night at the stage next to the Tiki Bar. If you are into romantic dinners then definately do a sunset dinner cruise. The boat will pick you up right at the beach. The bottom line is that you can find a newer fancier hotel, (and pay twice as much) but you will not find a more Hawiian hotel or nicer staff anywhere. We will be staying there again.

Our travel agent recommended we stay here, due to the Hawaiian atmosphere, but warned us that it was a bit worn down. She was a bit far off! From the minute we got there, I wanted to leave. The hallways need recarpeting and a good coat of paint. The rooms themselves are totally outdated and the carpet was so disgusting, I refused to walk around without shoes. Every night, I would dread going back to our room - it was very disappointing. Not only that, but the security at the hotel is non-existant. Doors in the back are propped open, no matter what time of day, letting just anyone roam to any floor of the hotel. My boyfriend wouldn't let me walk down the stairway by myself. The woman at the front desk was not very friendly, but the rest of the staff we encountered was very nice. I wanted to switch hotels, but didn't have time. If the hotel was renovated, it would be a great place to stay, but if you're just looking for a clean comfortable room, keep looking. If you're looking to spend a lot of time on the beach and want to sign up for Hawaiian activities, you may be able to look past it all.

We went to the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It is in one of the best locations on Ka'anapali Beach. We were well pleased with our room and the food at the Mixed Plate and Tiki Terrace. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. We didn't even need a car. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our entire stay. There were many activities including hula classes, lei making and pineapple cutting. This hotel is know for being the "most Hawaiian hotel". The aloha spirit is most welcoming. We would definitely return to this hotel .

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and from the begining to the end it was wonderful. The staff was friendly, our room was clean, and the buffet breakfast was great. The view from our room was fabulous especially the sunsetting over the ocean. We had no problem swimming in the ocean. They even have a farewell ceremony for their guests. If we get a chance to go back we would definetly use this hotel.

We booked a ""Good Buy? for 4 nights in a Garden room. The room we received was old and worn. There were holes in the ceiling where the plaster had cracked and fallen. We complained and they moved us for our 3rd and 4th night. Our second room was great - everything looked much newer. It was also a Garden room but faced the center courtyard. Additional charges for parking (self and valet) and internet. The location is great. Short walk to shops and restaurants. Fantastic snorkeling off of Black Rock, which is almost right in front of the hotel.
