A questionable bed, no breakfast

I saw the pictures on the website and thought it was a comfortable family looking place to stay, but was mistaken when we got there. The house we were directed to was not the one pictured on the website but a small house that didn't look too bad from the outside. The room was very small on a landing sharing a bathroom with other guest rooms. The size of the room didn't bother us since we were looking for something inexpensive for one night. However, the door had open spaces on top and bottom that didn't make it very secure and it didn't look very cozy when we entered. The smell was not too inviting. When we came back that night to sleep there was no light to find our way up the stairs to our room, so we had to feel our way to the door then, still worried we decided the bed looked ok to sleep in, but the bathroom was not up to par to shower in. Before we got in bed, however, a cockroach ran across the bed and we decided that was enough and proceeded to gather our stuff. Since it was late at night by this time we left in a hurry and made sure there were no bugs in our bags and ended up sleeping the the Jeep we rented. It wasn't the best night we had in Hawaii. After looking at the website page that I printed out when we made our reservations I noticed it said eco-friendly and this couldn't be more true. That night the cockroaches had the room all to themselves. Maybe the more expensive rooms are better kept, but if you are looking for an inexpensive room, make sure you investigate first instead of losing your money.
