The hotel is absolutely beautiful; the lobby, the courtyard, the front porch, all amazing. However, the room was very disappointing. It was not at all what we were expecting, and did not live up to its description. While the bed was comfortable, and the room had an amazing view, overall the room could have been cleaner, and the carpet needed to be either cleaned or replaced. The staff was wonderful, very friendly. Absolute paradise, until it was time for bed. :(

The first room we were given was not acceptable, too small, dark and did not even have a chest of drawers. We upgraded at additional cost and this room was very pleasant. The only feature that was inconvenient feature was the closet was in the bathroom. Several small services that I would expected had to be asked for, but the staff was friendly and thereafter the services were done. We did not eat at the hotel for the cost of food much higher than at other restaurants even those with simular views and excellent food. The location was good for the activities we wanted to do and the atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant. My only negative comment is that the room of the quality we were booked into for a nine day stay happened at a hotel with this rating and cost.

I will choose another ""cheaper"" hotel next time. Expensiev is not usually the best. The room is so small and the couple live next to us they fight every night. Therefore, I can't sleep well during the night. But I like the location of this hotel and also it's right near to the beach. (But the Waikiki Beach is belong to the public..everyone can enjoy the beach even though you don't live in this hotel) I think I will live in a cheaper hotel next time.

We stayed four nights and did not want to leave. A great deal for a family of five, the in-room dinning was great. Enough to please our kids (ages seven, six and two). Literally on the beach, all we did was go down to the lobby and walked fifty feet and hit the beach. I've been to Waikiki a couple of times before but this trip was the most memorable. The hotel staff was just great! Very friendly, accomodating and professional. Beats ALL of the hotels I've stayed at in the past. Located in the middle of everything, easy access to dinning places, bars, aquarium and zoo.Definitely recommended!

I have been to Oahu 4 times now and I am very happy I stayed here! Vacationing by myself, I wanted to make sure I could have everything I needed within walking distance (shopping, resturaunts, gym access, etc). Moana Surfrider provides that and more! Located directly on the beach there is no need to pack anything extra (towels, chairs, etc) because the hotel provides it free of charge. Each day got a chair at the pool that faced the ocean and just read and people watched. Also, if you want to be on the beach, you can get an umbrella and chairs on the sand, free, but first come first serve. I've stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in November 2007 and they charged me 50 for the exact same thing on the beach! The pool/beach area has a ton of servers that will bring you the typical fruity-hawaiian drinks for about 8 each and there are at least 50 tables on the patio that you can eat/drink at and watch the ocean...so relaxing! The best thing about my stay was that when I was getting ready to go home (checkout is at 11am but my flight didnt leave until 11pm) I left my bags at the front desk, enjoyed one more afternoon on the beach, and then was still able to shower at the hotel in what they call at HOSPITALITY ROOM. I highly suggest anyone take advantage of this....I was going to walk 2 blocks to 24hour fitness and shower at the gym, but the hotel gave me a room key and allowed 45 minutes for me to shower, change, etc. to get ready to go to the airport. I was amazed that this was available and ita definitely a perk to staying here.

Beautiful hotel, very relaxed and homey feel with the veranda and views of the ocean and beach at the Beach bar. Rocking chairs on the veranda are the best!! Or sit in the oversized chairs on the back deck and gaze out on the ocean! Room was very nice with a nice bath and wonderful beds. Our view from our room was picture perfect. Would have liked to see a microwave.....but everything else was great. Just a short walk down from several resturants, Duke's and Hula Grill (best breakfast). Parking was easy and everyone was very sweet, friendly and helpful. Can't wait to stay here again....
