The sleek exterior facade, designed by Chicago's Eckenhoff Saunders Architects, will feature a stunning 28 foot high clear glass curtain wall offering passersby views of the goings-on inside the dana. The striking ground floor entrance will be anchored by an undulating timber wall, providing a soothing backdrop for a two-story fireplace and Dana's two primary dining offerings AJASTEAK, a contemporary Asian steak house and sake lounge, and the Dana's signature floating sushi bar. An artful juxtaposition will balance the beauty of these natural elements with state of the art technologies, including free high bandwidth internet connection and Wi-Fi capabilities; a 37 inch HD flat screen television, and European Smart Digital cordless phones (with all local calls complimentary). Of note, the dana hotel and spa will be the first hotel in the world to provide Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin audio equipment in guest rooms; the Zeppelin a 2007 Rolling Stone top pick allows a guest to sync his or her MP3 player, providing an ultra high fidelity outlet for your personal soundtrack. A centerpiece of the dana hotel will be its full floor dana spa and fitness center, accessible to both hotel and non hotel guests, for pampering and polish. Some six treatment rooms, including one strictly for couples, will offer the latest in relaxation techniques, including some exclusive to the dana. Its environment will be soothing, serene, and sustainable, to boot. Designed with materials including bamboo bricks and recycled glass terrazzo flooring. An adjoining private 24 hour fitness center will feature the Italian Technogym line of fitness equipment, including an entire wall of Kinesis cables, plus client comforts such as individual MP3 docking stations and televisions; a yoga stretching area; and yoga mats, pilates balls and hand weights available for in-room use.

Didn't know what to expect from this new hotel (opened June 2008), but from the time we walked into the front door the staff was friendly, polite and very relaxed. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Its location on State Street is perfect for anything you want to do in Chicago with the Magnificent Mile just a couple of blocks away and a vast array of restaurants just down the street. Definitely recommend this hotel.

although this a new hotel i must say that it gave me everything that i was looking for in this vacation. i honestly could have just stayed in the room because it was just as much of an escape. it was everything the pictures said and much much more. the staff is excellent as well you must have this experience yourself.

The rooms were a lit nicer that I had ever expected. The employees were super friendly, even the doormen. Great location downtown. If I ever return to Chicago, I will be staying again.
