location was great--we walked everywhere, including oriental theatre for evening play. the room was awsome, with the large screen tv and modern decor. we couldn't have asked for better!
My only complaint is I thought the hotel had a pool onsite, but instead it utilizes the facilities of an attached fitness center with an additional charge for use. We used the concierge to make restaurant reservations and received good tables at both places we requested.
The Fairmont in Chicago is a fantastic hotel. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel was a great place to get out from the snow and wind. The whole entire staff was so nice and accomodating, from the valet to the bartender at the lounge next to the lobby. We were so impressed that everyone was so nice. The hotel is located right next to Millenium Park and only a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile shops (and the El - it's a great way to get to Midway airport). We would definitely come back to stay at this hotel for our next visit to Chicago!
The quality of the Fairmont chain is second to none. The Fairmont Chicago lives up to that quality andthen some. Great location, terrific room and friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable. All this for hundreds of dollars less per day than other hotels on the Gold Coast. We checked out other hotels in the area and prices were anywhere between 225 and 450 PER NIGHT. Our pirce 150. Great quality hotel!
