excellent service. everyone was very nice. went above and beyond. would stay in hotel again

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-21

We found the room very comfortable and the hotel was conveniently located on Michigan. Beds were very comfortable and I wish I could have brought them home with me. Bus service came right by the hotel and the cta was just a few blocks away making it convenient to get around. Milinium Park is about two blocks away, Navy Pier, Art Institute, and many other attractions are in walking distance. Chicago is my kind of a town! The one drawback with the hotel room is that you definitely need to have windows, they may need to address lighting issues.

Good value says it all!

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-13

This is the 2nd review I have written about this hotel. I was so dissapointed as was my friend who booked this trip. It started when I e mailed the property 2 weeks before our arrival and never got a response. The bell desk was helpful however J at the front desk was another story. After greeting my friend and confirming we wanted a smoking room no upgrade necessary we were promptly taken to a non-smoking floor and a handicapped room my friend is a healthy young man and I am not handicapped either. After getting our room changed both us us were not happy with the room size. The bed was great and comfy. The muted tones were nice and tipping the maid 10 a day guarantees you extra towels and amenities. Room service was quick and beer was always on ice. Complimentry WI Fi was great. Hotel bar staff was friendly. China grill was ok slightly overpriced. I know the following is in capital letters. IF YOU ARE A CHICAGO SPORTS FAN DO NOT STAY HERE THEY DO NOT CARRY THE GAMES . GO CUBS. Overall a person expects more from the famed Hard Rock. We are spoiled by the Las Vegas property. Location was great. I recommend the Amalfi for a future stay.

Hard Rock was a pit stop along the path of my 30th bday bash. My sister and I crashed @ Hard Rock overnight after an evening of birthday celebrations. The rooms were impressive w/ the choice of modern finishes (rich leather and sleek chrome embellishments throughout the room). However, due to the modern edge of the decorations, come night-time, the room came off overwhelmingly like a cave. Even w/ all the lights on in the room, it felt dark and dismal in the room. If you're looking for ambiance, this is the hotel for you. The staff @ Hard Rock was impressive from the minute we entered the confines of the hotel. From the front desk receptionist who checked me in to the house keeping staff. I felt the room was a little overpriced. I understand that the hotel is nestled in a superb location while offering a great sized room, although cave-like, I still felt the price for what you r/c'd was out of proportion.

The hotel was in a great location near everything. The room was small but clean. The rate was good. Overall it's not a bad hotel.
