My wife and I went to Chicago for the first time together for a romantic city summer getaway. We had a phenominal time especially since we love travel destinations with plenty to do. We were so impressed with the conceriege at Hotel Monaco. He was very poiite, patient, thorough and pleasant to work with. We had many questions and received explanations that made our tour of Chicago comfortable and enjoyable. This hotel is an ideal location to just about every must-see tourist attraction as well as the city transit systems. I was so impressed with the location, interior ambiance and decor, modest size building with large spacious and quaint rooms containing all the necessary immenities, complimentary coffee and wine party, friendly and cheerful staff, immaculate cleanliness, excellent room service, etc. I truly cannot say enough good about this hotel. My wife and I have stayed in many nice hotels all over the world and this hotel is absolutely top notch. My biggest recommendation when choosing this particular hotel is to reserve a river view room. You will be happy you did so. It is gorgeous. You'll have a large window seat to sit in and stare out into the Chicago river surrounded by the remarkable buildings. We plan on staying at many more Kimpton Hotels after our experience at Hotel Monaco Chicago.

After driving 16 hours from Dallas, we arrived at the hotel at 12:30am to be told our room was not available! There had been bad weather in the Chicago area which kept travelers from leaving. Our pre-paid room had been sold. I was very upset, however the staff was very helpful and found us a room at a sister hotel two blocks away that would also take our dog. We stayed there overnight and by 10:30 the next morning our room at the Hotel Monaco was ready. Once we arrived we were very pleased by the room itself (beautiful), the staff (professional , very helpful and friendly), the location (one block from the river and close to the El, parks, and Michigan Ave), and the gift bag for our Westie, Maggie. Our stay was perfect and I would most definitely stay here again.

This was my fourth pleasure trip to Chicago. The overall experience at the Hotel Monaco was outstanding from the moment I walked up to the front doors. I was greeted warmly and, even though it was only 10:00 a.m., the clerk gladly checked me in and had me in my lovely room within minutes. The room was cheerfully decorated and the beds were heavenly. The location (and view) were outstanding...just a few minutes from the Magnificent Mile, Loop theaters and shopping, Millenium Park, Chicago Art Institute, Grant Park, etc. There are many quality breakfast/snack options within one or two minutes of the hotel, and the Monaco also has its own full-service restaurant if you care to dine at the hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier, and the concierge service was readily available and completely cordial. The evening wine hour was a nice touch. Lastly, because this is a pet-friendly hotel, it was fun to meet people traveling with their beloved pets. I would absolutely choose this hotel again when I am ready for my next shop-till-you-drop Chicago adventure.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Monaco for five nights for an anniversary trip in early October. We stayed at a Kimpton hotel for our honeymoon three years ago and were hoping for similarly splendid service and accommodations at the Monaco. We were not disappointed. We were able to check in early (around 11am) and received our requested coffee maker within minutes of arriving in our room. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. On our first night, the concierge recommended a very good local Italian restaurant within an easy walking distance. Housekeeping services were prompt and thorough. The location was perfect for exploring the Magnificent Mile, going on several architecture tours, and going to the opera. The free wireless Internet was a nice bonus. We will definitely book the Monaco on subsequent trips to Chicago.

The monaco was a terrific place to stay! From the moment we walked in the door the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Any requests that we made were addressed very promptly. Our room was fab! We requested a ""tall"" room and it was very comfy for my tall husband. We loved the bright and unusual decor as well as our little goldfish that kept us company over the weekend. The hotel is in a great location. The only thing is the parking at the hotel is expensive. Would recommend the self park around the corner.

Great location, fantastic front desk and doormen. Enjoyed the wine tasting and the workout room had excellent machines. Also a plus was the free service of printing boarding passes. Turndown service was great, too.
