I love the staff from beginning to end. I was hesitant when I arrived, looking for fault. I could not find a problem with the hotel.
My wife and I flew out to Chicago for the weekend. Love love love Chicago. Chicago is famous for it's food and shopping. The hotel was nice. I loved the location. It was by merchandise mart and everything else was within walking distance. I was sold on the location. Even cab fare was reasonable. We got a standard room since we didn't plan on spending any time at the hotel. Our room was just a place for us to sleep in. Only complaints we had was, there was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. Go to signature room at the 95th floor on John Hancock building. We spent little over 200 but it was money well spent. Also, when you do your reservation, ask for a seat by the window. It's simply gorgeous. Chicago is expensive, very expensive. Plan on spending money.Over all, good hotel, good location. We will definitely go back again. SOON.
We were only here for one night, but it was very easy to get to off of the expressway. The ladies at the front desk were extremely nice and easy to talk to. This made our stay a lot easier after a 12 hour drive.
My husband purchased the room through online travel website. When we checked into the hotel we asked if the room had a king bed and the front desk clerk was rather snide in her response that because we used online travel website we had 2 double beds. We went up to our room and the stench was so overwhelming due to it being a smoking room (we had requested a non-smoking). We called the front desk and the same lady told us (using the same snide tone as before) that because we used online travel website we were given a "run of the house" room. We explained that my husband is allergic to smoke and we requested they move us to a non-smoking room. We went downstairs to get the new room key, at which time, I provided the clerk my Priority Points member number as I had forgotten to do so when we checked in, and once more, I was greeted with her nasty tone as she explained that becaused we booked through online travel website we would not get any points for our room cost (a fact I was already well aware of, but at this point she seemed adamant about getting the point across that because we used online travel website we are viewed as the bottom of the barrel type guests... OK, I get it. But we've used online travel website many times before and have never run into such a negative attitude - at a Holiday Inn no less!). Aside from her less than sunny disposition it was a good location and the room was clean. Doubt that I'd stay here again though just because her attitude left me with a very bad impression of the staff.
Our compliments to the front desk and valet persons. They were outstanding.
The staff was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay because of them. They were very helpful.
