The hotel is gem in the Gold Coast. It is surrounded by fabulous shopping, restaurants, bike excursions, the beach, but it is also in a quiet spot. The service is excellent and the dining room is an outstanding event. The hotel was full and the guests were of all ages. Outstanding.
This hotel is located a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan. Everything you could possibly want to do is within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very helpful. I would stay here again and again. I was here on business but plan to return on vacation with my family.
We loved this hotel, very elegant. The American Girl Package was great!!!!!! The girls loved it.
Can not beat the location and it has a lot of charm, however be prepared to spend approx. 41 per night in parking which they do not tell you about and to boot their website had mis-quoted the cost to begin with. Just ask ahead of time so you're not blind sided.
From the start, the service was impeccable. Very nice hotel, though be aware dining is expensive. Quiet and secure.
My husband booked a surprise getaway for my birthday in December and chose to stay here. The lobby was lovely and decorated for the holidays, and when we went up to our room, the lights were already dimmed and jazz music was playing...great ambiance! The room and the hotel were very clean; it's a historical hotel so everything has been renovated. The bed was very comfortable as well. The restaurant had excellent food, and the best part of the hotel is the Pump Room Lounge, a very classy place to get a drink, listen to live music, and dance. The price was also quite reasonable from what I understand. I highly recommend the Ambassador East Hotel.

The SceneFrank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bette Davis, Judy Garland--the list goes on and on. Old Blue Eyes made the hotel his Chicago address f
