For a Family of three the room was roomy and the value of breakfast and light dinner(happy Hour)was great especially in a city that was a bit over whelming. Every staff member that we came in contact with was friendly and willing to advise you on the area and transportation options. We would book with a Homewood Suites again in our travels.

I was in Chicago on a business trip and made a long weekend of it. This Homewood Suites has an excellent location and super-friendly staff. My room had a cool view of the new Trump complex and other skyscrapers and was very clean and quiet. PROS: - Rooms have kitchens, and cleaning people wash your dishes in the dishwasher every day - Jewl-Osco and Trader Joe's are around the corner for groceries - Free hot breakfast with take-away containers - 7th floor laundry room (1.25 in quarters to wash or dry) - My room was very quiet - I never heard any neighbors (some street noise - cars beeping, etc. - but I like that) - Room was pretty spacious and very clean - Business center has free access to computers for internet access, and a nice view of Bloomingdale's home store - Location is awesome - on same block as Room & Board, across from Nordstrom, just west of Michigan Ave. - shops and restaurants everywhere - Free use of Crunch gym next door in addition to hotel fitness room CONS: - 7th floor, where laundry room is, reeked of cigarette smoke. Luckily I only had to go there briefly. - Laundry room is tiny - 2 washers, 2 dryers in a space the size of a bathroom (and you have to go down to the lobby shop to buy detergent & dryer sheets) - The air conditioning system has a quirk whereby if the outside temperature is below 45 degrees, it won't blow cool air. I thought my system was broken, but the maintenance guy who came explained the quirk to me. He opened the windows to let in some cool air. Overall, an excellent place to stay and great value. I'll definitely return!

I chose this hotel for a recent family trip to Chicago based on location, price and other traveller reviews. I was not disappointed. Each employee, from the valet to the folks serving breakfast, was courteous and eager to answer questions. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. We loved the free internet service as well as the generous free breakfast each morning. Hotel was within walking distance to pretty much everything, and if it wasn't, the subway was only a block away. Navy Pier free trolley stops right outside the hotel. I would recommend this hotel again and again. The value for the money just can't be beat!

I picked this hotel because of other reviews I read and was NOT disappointed. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and prompt. Free coffee and tea all day. (Welcomed during cold weather!!!)Best feature(s): a fabulous Sunday morning brunch. We did not eat again until Sunday dinner! Free membership (during stay) to Crunch fitness next door & location to restaurants and El.Worst feature: You have to use valet parking, so go ahead and add 36 per 24 to your hotel price. But in Chicago, what other choice do you have?

Overall a good hotel. One bellmen named X seemed genuine in wanting to help our family. Unfortunately we did not see him till the last day of our stay and he was rewarded for his help. I think the others prejudged and missed out. Housekeeping was great and accomodating, Service desk was a rushed.

We had a king suite; sofabed was used by our 13& 15 year old boys. We arrived a little before check-in time, but staff allowed us to check in and gave us an accessible suite. Living room was not huge, but comfortable for our 5-night stay. Boys had to walk through bedroom to get to bathroom. Two nice size closets in main living area. Bedroom had no closets but had a chest of drawers and plenty of room to set up suitcases. Pool is on top floor (19) and open till 11 pm. Nice to have late hours, and cool view of city lights at night. Very convenient location. Hotel is less than two blocks to red line. Across the street from Nordstroms and north bridge mall (with Lego store). Breakfast was good, and staff was attentive. Never tried the evening meal available weeknights. Baseball stadiums are on the red line, so convenient for attending games. Would definitely stay there again.Only negative, and this is picky, no towel racks next to tub. Had to put towel on floor next to shower.
