Disgusting
Filthy, old and run-down, and worst all all roaches the size of mice in my room! Do not be fooled by the good ratings you see here- they are mo...
Just steps from the John Hancock Tower, right off Michigan Avenue. Easy to drive to off the expressway. Expensive valet parking was only drawback. But staff was very responsive when we needed the car, also well staffed at night. Maintenance was very prompt for the one issue (we didn't realize they had turned off the heat once outside temp had warmed up...automatically back on that night, though). Bathroom had heat lamp, which was nice treat. We had a great nap and slept well on that wonderful bed!
My husband and I have stayed in Chicago before. This was by far the best expreience yet. The Whitehall is just a block from Michigan Avenue near Water Tower Place. For being a smaller hotel it had all the perks of the larger ones. The concierge was good, but the bellmen were best! Very helpful and courtious staff made the stay in our beautiful room even better. We were even delivered a plate of chocolates in the afternoon with a thank you card for staying with the Whitehall Hotel. We highly recommend the hotel!
I found a great deal on this hotel at 119 a night and stayed just one night. The weather was horrible but the beds were wonderful. Parking leaves a lot to be desired though.
Beautiful intimate lobby where you can sit and quietly have an after dinner drink or read the paper in the morning. It's like being in a luxurious private living room. The room was very comfortable with two over-stuffed chairs and a nice king bed. On the north end of the Mag Mile with a lot of great shopping and eating nearby. We will stay here again next year.
Service has slipped quite a lot in recent years, but a few dedicated long-time staffers keep this a great destination
My wife and I stayed in Chicago during March of 07, We went to enjoy North Michigan Ave and Rush Street. The hotel was clean the room was luxurious. Lovely bed linens, furniture, and Marble/Granite bathroom. Staff was helpful and friendly.

This deceptively large boutique hotel is popular with visiting celebrities who like their privacy.
The SceneIf you've never been to the Whitehall, you may be surprised to find a 21-story hotel almost hidden among the surrounding skyscrape
Old
This place is very old and the rooms show signs of its age. The staff is very nice and location is great, but it can't make up for the rooms.
