Amenities
The Belden-Stratford is near downtown Chicago, across from Lincoln Park. The hotel is a Chicago landmark and the location puts guests steps from the lake and public transportation. The dramatic two-story Grand Lobby reflects exquisite European elegance and is accented with Empire period furnishings. One of Chicago's most celebrated restaurants is located in the hotel: Mon Ami Gabi, a delightful French bistro. When summer comes, enjoy outdoor dining there and a great view of Lincoln Park. For personal convenience, there is valet parking for a fee, complimentary fitness center, full service beauty salon spa, and dry cleaners located in the arcade. The hotel has 60 guestrooms, each equipped with air-conditioning, dataport, and cable television. Parking is 38.00 per night.

I stayed with my children (age ranges 5 to 19 yrs) while in Chicago attending an annual conference. We usually stay downtown Chicago but opted for more room at less price even though we would be little further out. This hotel is literally 5-10 min. from downtown via Lakeshore Drive. The hotel is two streets from Lakeshore so we couldn't have been better off if we had stayed downtown. The suite we had was great. It had two double beds in the bedroom, a pull out sofa and a day bed in an alcove. These were perfect for the teenagers who want a little privacy. We also had a full-sized refrigerator and a dining table that seated 4 so we could feel at home having a meal. The security was great, you have to use your key pass or be buzzed into each area. The only drawbacks I could think of were the pots and pans were worn and the valet parking closes at midnight. If you plan on coming in late, count on parking your own car. Of the four nights we were there I parked myself on the street for two, used valet for one and a paid parking lot around the corner for the other (this was because we got in after midnight). Also, while I was perfectly satisfied with the continental breakfast with coffee, an assortment of danishes and teas, my girls were hoping for some cereal, waffles or eggs.
Service was horrible. They were overbooked and didnt let us stay at their hotel. When I asked how long they'd known, they replied ""Quite awhile"". Keep in mind, this was the manager. I was going to propose and he ruined our whole trip. We were sent to their sister hotal, the seneca, where the service was much more memorable, in a good way.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was awesome. It had the greatest view. The staff was friendly and very helpful in helping us find our way around. I will definatly stay here again. One of the reasons why I fell in love with Chicago.
Fell in love with this hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. Room was clean , neat with the little extras that make it special. My daughter had the a room that was just totally awesome! - second floor, right over the entrance. The only regret is that I wish I could have stayed longer!. Fell in love with Chicago - a good part due to this hotel!
Beautiful veiw over Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan.Easily within walking distance of restaurants,el,Lincoln Park Zoo and just about anything else you could need.Friendly service but needs a little updating(stains on carpet, etc).Decent price, clean, quiet and overall a good experience.
