For being the only hotel in Rogers Park, it is good enough, and clean enough to be suggested to a visiting friend.
clean and quiet
If you are looking for an affordable, clean and quiet hotel this will work. It is close to public transportation into the city and the neighbor...
Okay, but not great
We stayed for 2 nights toward the end of May at the this Super 8. There is really no lobby - about 4 feet of floor space and a glassed in front...

We found ourselves at this Super 8 property the weekend after Memorial Day for a wedding, because virtually every downtown property was booked ...
Surprisingly good
It's fair to say that this wasn't our first choice for our second two nights in Chicago, being a fair way out of town, but the Days Inn Lincoln...
Best Stay for the Money/Ideal Location
Overall the stay was nice. Yes, the hotel had a distinct smell of Febreeze which I figured was to cover up the smoking rooms or previous occupa...

Way too overpriced!
Only advantage this Super 8 has is that it's near the lake, other than that, nothing special. This motel is old and run-down. The Super 8 in ...

The room purcheased did not even exist upon check-in! The hotel clerk was very rude and unwilling to work with us. In order to get a room comparable to the room booked through travel agent would have cost us more money up front. The room booked was an effeciency unit with 2 rooms and a whirlpool. It was not an effeciency unit with 2 rooms, it was one room with a king bed. The worst hotel experience I have ever had in this city! Do NOT book a reservation here - it is NOT worth the few extra dolloars. We ended up staying at the Congress Plaza and had a wonderful experience!
It's not the best or most updated hotel we've stayed in but it wasn't too bad. The area isn't too bad and it is very convenient to catch the red line. If you want to go to Wrigley or downtown, it's very easy and cheap.
We stayed here for a few extra days in the city after dropping our daughter off at college. The hotel is older, but well kept. We very much enjoyed the neighborhood, especially checking out the flower gardens and kids playing on the sidewalk on the 3 block walk to the Red Line. Lake Michigan's beach is only 3 blocks in the other direction. I accidently left the trunk ajar for a few hours while the car was parked out front, but nothing was amiss.Driving in that neighborhood is crowded, but the hotel has parking so there is no reason to drive once you get there. I wish we had found a nice restaurant or a grocery in the immediate vicinity. It might be there, but we didn't find it. The room had a fridge and a microwave, so you could keep groceries or nuke leftovers if you wanted. The continental breakfast was adequate, but they were short on space, so it was crowded if you slept late. We had great fun in the city, riding the Red Line to a Cubs game and catching the Art Insitute on (free) Thursday evening. We will stay there again.
Rude service at the hotel, out-dated features. Shady area, not for familys
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!! There were bugs in the bathroom and the service was terrible. The people were not friendly at all!! I will never stay here again.
This was a great choice. It was close to the train system which we took downtown and to see the cubs. The staff was very friendly not sure what happened with the other reviewer. Gave us great advice on what to see and where to go. I would stay here again. Oh free parking anywhere in the city is a big plus.
Free coffee refills and budget rates make this motel tops with highway travelers.
The first Super 8 opened in Aberdeen, S.D., in 1974, charging $8.88 a night. Today, the national franchise, with its familiar red-a
