Chicago O'Hare Garden Hotel... Sounded good to a girl coming from a small town in southern Illinois. The staffMy mom booked this hotel for me...
chicago was great, but i expect more from wyndam.......not a clean or good smelling hotel....wrong rooms given.....pay the extra money to stay some were else.
This hotel was stuffy, dirty and the rooms were terrible. The AC units didn't work well and the overall stench in the hallways was pretty bad. The staff, however, was really friendly and the price was pretty good. I guess we got what we paid for.
I will start with the good things: The bed in my room was nice and soft, the location was good, the restaraunt was nice, and the shuttle service was a very nice bonus (they go to the airport and also within a 3 mile radius.) Now for the bad: When I first arrived at the hotel the outside was questionable, it looked a little run down but the lobby was nice so I had some somewhat high hopes. However, once I began the journey to my room my hopes began to fade. It appeared to be quite run down and not as clean as I would have desired. To get to my room on the 2nd floor I had to go down steps, so I am not sure what the purpose of sending me up the elevator was. My room did not have a number plate outside the door, it was written on the wall with an ink pen. The room was not very clean looking either. The chain lock was broken and there was small pieces of the back side of the door missing or broken. There was not a hair dryer in the bathroom. The shower was okay but not the best. The safe in the room did not work either. The staff was not as curteous as I would have expected, when I checked out they didn't even ask how my stay was, maybe becuase they knew what my response was going to be. Anyway, it has its good aspects but I am not sure I will stay here again. I picked this hotel because of the cost, shuttle service, and location but next time I will probably spend more money and get something nicer.
The hotel is nice, in proximity to the Mariot and Holiday Inn and others, nice staff, well furished rooms and there is a resturant which serves acceptable meels. there is a little white shuttle to/from the airport avery half an houre ... it is beter too call the hotel and ask them for the shuttle... the room is spacious, it has a fridge, TV with cable, WiFi, comfortable bed, and a nice desk... The hotel needs to do something regarding the shower ( it needs new sets and jet power... i had to hold the shower head and try to hang it somewhere on the wall ...) otherwise the bathroom is nice withe plenty of twoels.... I would think that they could improve the toilet tissue rollls quality and I recommend that you get you own. Another thing is the noise at night -it is from outside- raillway very close and the road to, so they need to double glaze their windows or you will not have a good sleep... how impportant this is !!! Hooters is nextdoor, enjoy your chicken wings and guiness...there is also a big shopping store "Dominics" on the other side of the road ... so you don't have to worry about shopping before you go to the hotel. I hope this review is helpful to both customers and the hotel staff.
We needed to go to the convention centre and this hotel was close and they provide free shuttle service (24 hours) to and from the convention centre. The front desk staff was not overly friendly (except xxx who was very friendly) but not bad either. I would definitely stay here again if there is a need to go to the convention centre or downtown as they provide free shuttle to the train stations.
The discription makes it sound plush and inviting. It is not. After waiting at the front desk while the staff helped someone else, a cute girl in a short skirt came in and we were overlooked to help her first. The rooms were just okay. The driver from the airport drove like a maniac and passed vehicles on the right in lanes used for exits. The refund I was to receive from booking online was not given to me when we checked in..........and I could go on, and on. I would not recommend this hotel nor stay there again.
Great deal for the price by Carol S. at InsiderPages
Sure, it's not the snazziest, but this hotel offers a free shuttle to and from O'Hare -- a must if you're flying in late at night without a car...
