My family spent the weekend going to Wrigley during the day and Jersey Boy's at night. The location was excellet for transportation to the game and close enough to walk to Michigan Ave. We took the train to Chicago and were able to walk to the hotel. We were charged for valet parking but they gladly removed it after being informed that we did not have a car. The rooms were comfortable and service was good. However, we were not very demanding as we spent little time at the hotel.
My husband, my friend, and I drove out to Chicago to pick up two vehicles we had purchased. We are from MI and didnt arrive in Chicago until 3:30 AM and we stopped at about 5 hotels trying to find a cheap but clean hotel for the night cause we were only staying in the room a few hours. Everywere we went was either booked or outragous in price, and one hotel told us they would have to charge a late check in fee of 50! Finally I went inside the Crowne Plaza, and the night desk attendent said he only had a King bed room available. I told him there were 3 of us and we needed two beds. He happily gave us a roll out bed free of charge and the price of the room was very reasonable! When we saw the room I was amazed at the trendy decor and how clean and beautiful the room was! There was a balcony were you could walk out on. The bed was absolutly AMAZING and the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in!! (my husband agrees!) They had alot of little extras in the room which was nice lke a sleeping mask, bottled Aquafina, LOTS OF PILLOWS very soft ones! I do agree about the valet being 35 that is a bit high, and my husband owns a valet company, but parking in Chicago is very expensive no matter were you go. Overall the staff was friendly and the hotel was VERY NICE. My husband and I are actually leaving today to Chicago to pick up another car and I will be going to the Crowne Plaza again tonight! :)
This hotel charges * per night for parking, with no other options for parking. This was not explained to me when booking the room. The hotel was full and when leaving I called for a bellman 30 minutes in advance, as suggested. After 35 minutes I called again and was told a bellman would be "right up". After 20 more minutes I finally carried my own luggage to the lobby. While in the elevator I was with 2 bellman going down to the lobby with no luggage! The bellman and service employees must ride the same elevators as guests so much delay in elevator service. They obviously don't have enough elevators.
The staff at this hotel is just remarkable. They went out of their way to make sure that everything we needed was taken care of. The decor of this hotel is very edgy and contemporary and designed for your total comfort. I would definitely return the next trip to Chicago. Make sure you try the chocolate martini in their Martini Bar. Dine the restaurant in the hotel is a definite must, or there are 10-15 other restaurants to choose from only blocks from the hotel.
Be Warned! Price on this hotel is misleading since the valet parking is 35/night and it is mandatory!
The price on this hotel is deceptive. They charge 35/day for valet parking and you don't have a choice. Even if you park your car it is 35/day. Seems pretty outrageous.
