Overall, hotel was nice. It is not 4 star, however, which is the level that Priceline has it rated. Hotel is literally connected to O'Hare terminals, which I did not know. Beds were pretty comfortable, but every decent hotel has nice bedding these days. Granite countertops, nice towels and linens, and LCD TVs are all nice touches. However, selection of channels was limited and if you don't have an HD signal, the LCDs are pretty much worthless anyway. Staff was not friendly at all- from the woman who checked us in to everyone else we encountered. The bellman did get me a luggage cart to use at checkout, which was very helpful and appreciated. Other than that, no one else was helpful. Parking is a an absolute travesty. your options are: a) 45 for valet, b) 30 to park in an outdoor lot across the street (5 minute walk), c) 16 for the airport economy, which who knows how far away. Also, you can hear planes taking off and landing, but it is faint- you would have to be a light sleeper for the noise to disturb you. Lastly, the train is very convenient to the hotel- just walk inside the airport. However, it takes a minimum of 50 minutes to get into the city, and can regularly be 90 min. On Fri, Sat, and Sun nights, they do maintenance on the tracks (not sure how long this will last)- so if you are on the train, they make you get off, get on a shuttle bus which takes you to the next stop. Annoying. Took us about two hours to get back to the hotel from the city that night. This is not the fault of the hotel, but it is ridiculously inconvenient.
This is a good hotel for meeting's. You get off of your flight and 5 to 10 mins walk over to the hotel. Best yet,you are inside all the way. If you want to go downtown, hop the blue train and away you go. On work day's coming from town in the afternoon, give yourself a little time as the train is jamed packed. You may not get on it and will have to wait for another. I had to wait 3 trains.A overnight lay over, this is the place.
The Hilton O'Hare is a great location for layover travelers. Valet parking was expensive (*/day) and limited. I had to park in the economy lot (huge savings). Fortunately there is complimentary train service to the airport/hotel. Access to the airport and CTA is convenient from the Hilton O'Hare. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice, inexpensive breakfast conveniences available in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel to travelers with a layover in Chicago, or business in the area. I was disappointed there was not a pool for my children to enjoy.
I was worried that we'd hear planes all night, but we never heard one. Great beds, easy access to airport. El entrance is right off the lobby.
Stayed here on lay over of ""redeye"" fron California. Beat thing I have done. Had 6 hours to sleep in comfort. Checkin and checkout can be automated, but didn't work.
For central location, and a quick meeting, this is the place. Great conference rooms for small groups and you can get on a plane in minutes. The hotel needs more restaurants, though."
