Ask if the pool is open when making reservations. Pool had been "closed until further notice" and no one said anything about it when the reservatiion was made the day before. Should have been told!
We arrived at the hotel and found that the cleanliness and condition of the room left a lot to be desired. After spending one night we went to the desk to check out but since we had reserved on the internet for four days, we were told that we could leave but would still be charged for the four days. Thinking that this was rediculous I called the Best Western main number to complain about this and was told that it was up to the individual hotel whether they would refund the cost of days not used upon early checkout. I spoke with the local manager who said he would not refund anything. If you are considering this hotel, be aware that if you check out early for any reason, you will forfeit the cost of your entire, originally booked, stay. I would not consider this hotel again.

This is a great hotel if you are coming to KC for a convention and need a cheaper alternative to the downtown hotels. If you're flying in, take a KCI shuttle to one of the downtown hotels then call the Best Western for a free pickup. Their free shuttle service to anywhere within three miles is perfect for downtown conventions. No worries about car rentals or parking. Room was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but better than a lot at the same price. Free breakfast was great too. Sonic and Applebees are right next door if you need a meal. Remember, roundtrip on KCI shuttle and BW shuttle will cost you less than a taxi one way from the airport. Free wireless too as opposed to */day at the downtown hotels.
Overall nice rooms and a fair price. The shuttle made this hotel a real deal and not seem out of the way at all. Negatives? The breakfast food was OK, but the room feels cramped. The only other suggestion: how about some shampoo in the rooms? The best thing about this place was the front desk, though. Great people--couldn't have been more helpful.
the best western inn and conference center was quite enjoyable, from the clean, comfortable rooms to the free and varietal breakfast. the pool was kept up nicely, the staff friendly and the beds not to hard and not too soft. even though the location might be in the most ""upscale"" area of kansas city, it still was a great location
