My mom and I stayed here when in town for Antiques Roadshow at the Convention Center. You must pay for parking and it is * a night or * for valet. If the lot is full, you'll have to pay the valet fee! We got into our room late, and the carpeting seemed like it had been shampooed and was still wet. Also, it was a "non smoking" room however, there were cigarette burns in the carpeting. The walk-way from the parking garage is not at all safe and sort of scary walking by myself after dropping my mom off with luggage at lobby. Upon pulling up to the lobby drop off, prior to parking, my mom was startled by a "street person" knocking on our window with stuff to "sell". I shooed him off and went to park...which in turn didn't make me feel very safe in that area. On Sunday, we attempted (at 5:45 a.m.) to get a cart to bring up and load ourselves, however the gentleman at the counter kept making excuses that "they didn' t have one available" "the wedding party had them all ", etc. but he did say, "I can send someone up to your room with one" So, I returned to my room, called the desk, and miraculously one appeared, with a worker rushing us. Of course, I'm sure this is a union hotel and they must load and unload your luggage! Plus, walking through the walkway early in the morning smelled like someone had used it for a bathroom!!! Awful!
Great location to 4th Street Live. Walked right from the bars/pubs to the hotel room. Beautiful clean room. Views of the river and part of the city were very nice. We will definitely be back at this hotel!
The layout of this hotel is horrible for anything but a conference and even then there will be problems if everyone arrives together. They booked 2 conferences at once and there was a herd waiting for 3 very slow elevators. The parking, fitness room, and pool are all difficult to get to. Room views are all of brick building walls. Rooms were mediocre. The cafe had quite good food though. Overall not suitable for families or leisure travelers.
I was given a room overlooking a big gray brick wall. I was attending a conference, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. The bed was wonderful, the room was very clean, the pool was nice and I took a dip at 6:30 am, but only on my first day, as the temp. of the water was alittle too cold to be relaxing. The reason I would not suggest staying at this hotel was the morning noise level. Twice I was woken up at 6:00 am when they turned on the ""background music."" As each room opens on to the atrium, the music, (noise at 6am) will wake you up unless you are a super sound sleeper.
