This is simply a wonderful hotel in a good part of town. There are two GREAT bars within 100 feet of the hotel. One is across the street and the other is just down the street. The hotel staff was polite and professional. I look forward to returning.
If you appreciate history and architecture, this place and the area entails both at an affordable cost. Nice accommodations that keep the history of the building and the area intact. Within walking distance to most activities. Good value; clean, quiet hotel, professional staff. I didn't visit the restaurant but it was often full and not just with this hotel's guests. Simple, no frills work-out area. I walked to the French Quarter, business district, Louis Armstrong Park, etc. I will stay here when I visit the area again.
Mariott means comfy, nice but rarely stylish. Ren Arts is the exception. Handsome refitted building filled with art pieces. Stylish (smallish) rooms. Excellent gym tho rooftop pool area is a bit bare w/ excellent skyline view esp. night. Central to art galleries, RiverWalk & Casino. Bit of walk to Fr. Qrtr. but near trolley lines to Grdn. & Univ. districts. Solid 3.5 star hotel. Bit inexperienced but extremely nice young helpful staff. Only one meal at Bistro but it was terrific. Club Level Lounge very good at this price. Will stay again.
